its a little bit off though. also sounds like an old swinging bar door but ony half the sound matches.

Most tennis ball machines use a spinning wheel so you end up with a whooosh when it comes out as opposed to the arm of a pitching machine. I do agree with you that the click doesn't crack enough to be the pitching machine.
Been fun, hopefully we find out what it was.
