Eye appeal is all that's really important for high end. Grading isn't as big a deal for veteran based products. It may knock off a little bit of the price but a collector is generally not going to care about a .5 difference unless it's Bowman.
Problem is, a lot of the eye appeal is instantly gone when there is even moderate chipping all over the front of the card.
