Yes, after the chicken is pulverized and blended to remove the bones, cartilage and other nasty parts, it's hit with vaporized ammonia to sterilize it, this process completely obliterated the flavor of the chicken, so it has to be soaked with chemical compounds to give it a "chicken" flavor again. This process is similar to what the processors do to the beef as well.
No thanks, I'd rather make my own with some chopped up breast or thigh meat and some Silvia's Breading Mix. Tastes a hell of a lot better.
