2013 MLB JACKPOT Tournament FAQ'S:

Question:
How will we determine how many spots each Conference-Leading team will get in the Jackpot Bonus Grid?

Answer:

Example #1 - The Maximum # of Groups
Let's say we ultimately fill the max of 50 Groups.
From each group, (2) Teams will advance to the Jackpot Bonus Grid (AL Leader and NL Leader)
That's a total of 100 Participants (50 Total Groups x 2 Teams = 100 Participants).
Therefore, each Conference-Leading Team will get 1 Spot on the 100 spot Jackpot Bonus Grid!

The Total Jackpot Bonus Grid will be worth $7500!

Example #2 -
The Minimum # of Groups
Let's say we ultimately only fill 1 Group.

From this group, (2) Teams will advance to the Jackpot Bonus Grid (AL Leader and NL Leader)
That's a total of 2 Participants (1 Total Groups x 2 Teams = 2 Participants).
Therefore, each Conference-Leading Team will get 50 Spots on the 100 spot Jackpot Bonus Grid!

The Total Jackpot Bonus Grid will be worth $150!

Example #3 - Somewhere in the middle # of Groups
Let's say we ultimately fill 27 Groups.
From each group, (2) Teams will advance to the Jackpot Bonus Grid (AL Leader and NL Leader)
That's a total of 54 Participants (27 groups x
2 Teams = 54 Participants).
Therefore, each Conference-Leading Team will get 1 Spot on the 100 spot Jackpot Bonus Grid!
*The remaining 46 spots left on the grid will be randomed off amongst the 54 participants who made to the Jackpot Bonus Grid (Top 46 on the list each get an extra spot!)

The Total Jackpot Bonus Grid will be worth $4050!

Question:
Which team will advance to the Jackpot Bonus Grid if there is a Tie at the top of a conference?

Answer:
In the event of a tie, we will go with a Tie-breaker system.

Tie-breaker #1:
The team that has scored the Most Total Runs (through the April 30th Games) will advance.

Example:
Giants and Nationals both are tied atop the National League and have the same record after April 30th at 21-9.
We will go to Tie-breaker #1 - Most Total Runs.
The Giants have scored 228 runs and the Nationals have scored 207 runs.
Therefore, everyone who has the Giants, will advance to the Jackpot Bonus Grid.

Tie-breaker #2:
The team that has allowed the Least Total Runs (through the April 30th Games) will advance.

Example:
Giants and Nationals both are tied atop the National League and have the same record after April 30th at 21-9.
We will go to Tie-breaker #1 - Most Total Runs.
The Giants have scored 228 runs and the Nationals have scored 228 runs.

We will then need to go to Tie-breaker #2 - Least Total Runs Allowed.

The Giants have given up 145 runs and the Nationals have given up only 138 runs.
Therefore, everyone who has the Nationals, will advance to the Jackpot Bonus Grid.
