Last night I opened a box of 2008 Upper Deck Draft edition (along w/ a box of 07/08 Hot Prospects basketball
) As I was going through, I didn't realize how absolutely loaded that class has turned out to be. 5 autos per box, and 2 numbered parallels per box.
Really happy with the break. While the autos turned out to be 4 defensive players (and two of the same guy!), the one offensive player turned out to be the 2013 Super Bowl MVP, Joe Flacco.
I ended up getting three numbered parallels, because one of the autos was numbered - Erin Henderson. With all the autos in draft products half the time the guys you pull never actually play in the NFL, and four of mine (well, three since Henderson showed up twice) actually play in the league...although Terrell Thomas blew out his knee and hasn't played since '10.
The numbered parallels turned out to be on an insert (can't remember who was on it but it was someone and Brohm) and then pulled a numbered Ray Rice rookie. My favorite other card was an insert, Conference Clashes, where they had Jacob Hester (LSU) and some defensive player from Miami. You'd think Upper Deck was smart enough to realize LSU is an SEC school and Miami is an ACC school, but apparently that slipped by their proofers. They got all the other matchups correct, but this one...not so much.
