I escalated on Monday and called paypal. They told me no matter what, it will take 10 days and I will get my money back. Don't know if they're telling the truth, but it sounded good.

Man I was leaving mass feedback for participants in my last break, Snowboy - who sold his spot - was last on my list since he was first to leave me feedback as he exited the break. Only then did I see his negatives - which led me here.

I really hope first and foremost that everyone gets their money back here. I'm interested to see how PayPal handles this "empty account" scenario. What I do know is if you used your bank account or credit card - you should be able to go straight to your bank and reverse the charge, dispute its validity, or place a stop payment and the money will be right back in your account.

I've been a victim of local eBay pickup and subsequent chargeback at the buyer's bank. I had spent all the money, which left me with a -$500+ balance in the red, and resulted in my account being frozen and sent to third party collections when I refused to pay. Paypal can't control a disputed claim charged-back by your bank, they will be out the money if they can't recoup from the scammer.

Secondly, considering the circumstances, I would certainly be extremely worried that I was scammed, or the host is dead / incarcerated / hospitalized / kidnapped. I surely understand "innocent until proven guilty", but in this day and age, there's no excuse - including sick family - that should be acceptable for not typing ONE post when over $4000.00 of other people's property is entrusted to you. As group breakers, there is an absolute and implied responsibility to at least let people know what's going on if you are humanly physically able.

Aside from a life threatening situation preventing him from using a cell phone or typing a 90 second message from any computer terminal (or LOCKUP RAW), actions seem to dictate he's taken off with everyone's money. If this was indeed a scam, he's already withdrawn this money long ago, and probably won't care about his credit being destroyed after PayPal reverses his withdraw.

Hopefully he shows back up, I'm pulling for him and everyone, this is just a crap situation for all of those that were involved. Good luck to all

With so many great choices, who should I pick in the #3 slot?

I escalate it today, I marked "other reasons" and put a message that the seller didn't answer e-mails or haven't contacted me yet.

I'm not in this break, and only just read about whats been happening here today. It took me about 15 min of research on the internet to find that Byron Lyn Garber has quite a checkered past with respect to Fraud, Theft, and the St. Augustine Police Department. In and out of Jail over 10 times in the past 17 years, each instance contributed at least part to fraud and or theft.

If snowboy is in fact Byron Lyn Garber, 43, St. Augustine, Florida, then chances are better than fair that you will not be seeing him, your cards, or your money around here again.

Good luck to all in recouping their loses....

Yeah you can also find an arrest record for his son as well which would match everything we know about him. Along with a facebook page with stuff about cards on it.

Can authorities be contacted on something like this? Not sure about laws concerning but I would think fraud and theft at the very least.

To be honest Blowout needs to find a way to cut out the host from ever receiving the bulk of the PayPal for the cases, anything after the cases should go to the host for shipping, supplies, fees, profit w/e. Since you have to buy from blowout to be able to group break anyway the money should go into a blowout account directly from the people who buy-in to the break. Its way to easy to get your feedback / itrader w/e up high enough for people to have no problem tossing you $1000's without worry. Maybe its a pipe dream & I have no idea how hard it would be to do something like this but if you have to get the cases from BO something like this would eliminate being able to take the money & run. Now taking off with the cases is a different story all together

I am thinking he did take off as in the beginning I thought something could of happened but the longer this goes on the more i believe for sure he will not be back. I didn't know he had a son on here where if something was wrong one of them could of let us know ny now. Hopefully he will get back but i really doubt it.

its perfect the way it is. Who cares if someone takes the money and runs we get our money back. If blowout collected the money then gave the cards to someone else and they took off then there is nothing that can be done. This would raise blowouts liability for no reason when everything is already protected.

Well I contacted paypal about my payment sent using the Mobile App they told me it was my mistake and there is nothing they can do... the one time I didn't use my bank or debit to pay...but yea Blowout should escrow accounts that would allow for people who want payday loans who host breaks for products that release 30-45 days after active status...funny guy had a criminal record and all you had to do was google him...wonder how he got approved to host I know when I tried to host a wrestling break they wanted to know a lot of info and they googled my name...
