So does that mean all the dimaggio, mantle, maris, etc relics are not connected at all to those guys. It is just some random fabric and random pieces of wood?

It's a nice looking card, I'm sure the SF logos will add a little extra value to the card because of the uniqueness of it.

As for the rest of the posts about where the stuff comes from....Give me a break!!!...If all of that were true then there would be no interest in memorabilia products like Triple Threads. Topps and Upper Deck would be out of business if they were passing slivers of Bobby Bonilla bats off as Ruth bats. Sure we rip up on the companies for their procedures on redemptions and collation of some of their products, but we never question the integrity of their products. If this were the case, as some of you think....Do you throw away your memorabilia cards as you would pack fillers? I think if you think that way about the hobby...You need to get out of it!

The backs of TT cards say the relic pieces aren't from any specific game, event, etc...

Many, many times they use minor league, college, ASG weekend, batting practice and other non-MLB game used items.

For a lot of the old guys, they'll use stuff used in "old timer" games or special ceremonies long after the players retired.

But the pieces of memorabilia are still related to the players.

Im still of the belief that the companies make it seem like they are related to the players when in all reality not all of it is. Some of the stuff is, but others, there is no way.

Donruss still puts "this item was worn by such and such in an official NFL game" on their stuff. I buy donruss more than anyone now.

I dont touch triple threads after I read the back of the card.

doesn't event worn mean at the draft parties and photo shoots after the draft where they wear 20 different jerseys in 20 minutes so that way the card companies are not lying. I know the jersey cards from my 01 Ovation set all said that they were not worn during a game but at a practice or draft party or something like that.

I have to agree with some of the earlier posts, I would really be pissed off if I just pulled a TTT of some old-timers and it turns out the pieces are from the fungo bats used during practice.

Let me get my Joe Dimaggio with a Dom Dimaggio piece in it

I must be missing something. Back of my Mantle/Maris/Berra states GU of the 3 players mentioned.

Triple Threads is $80++ per pack and Topps cannot even cut up a mass produced game used jersey into a couple of hundred pieces.

Thats kind of an unfair statement. Many of the cards are produced before the season actually starts, so there isn't much of an opportunity (well, none actually) for them to obtain anything game worn, unless it is a college piece or preseason.
