Default 6 pack Allen & Ginter break - killed the odds!

Went in to the local money pit to see if they had any ginter singles as I try to complete the set every year. I had some cards I traded the owner and got 26 cards towards my set, and 3 packs of ginter. I pulled an Oswalt jersey and a Edwin Encarnacion silk #'d 1/10!!! I thought maybe it was a loaded box, so went back in and purchased 3 more packs and pulled a Dontrelle Willis rip card #'d 91/99. Needless to say I was pleased! Thanks.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the rest of the box is toast.

You know how it goes with open boxes in card shops, a lot of times boxes get mixed together. It looked like they had a new box with several packs probably from a previous box. I just got really lucky, and i'd agree that chances are the rest of the box was probably toast. I played it smart and quit while I was ahead. Thanks.

Thats one of the reasons I try to not go to card shops anymore. I tend to start ripping, intending on getting 5 or 6 packs, and end up opening the whole box and wanting to kick myself on the way out the door.

I am supprised at my restraint. Then again, I once went into a casino with my wife and we each had $100. About 1/2 hour later we walked out with about $800. We had both hit big jackpots - on the slot no less! We figured why not quit while we are ahead, and went out for a nice dinner! That is the last time either of us has been to a casino, and that was about 3 years ago now.
