Default 2007 SP Legendary Cuts (Last Weekend Sale)

I bought a few boxes from last weekend's sale and thought I had wasted money til the very last box, I think it was in one of the last 5 packs.

Not sure what I'm going to do with it. The current and completed auctions on eBay aren't helping me determine the value of it because I can only find cut auto only cards or him with another player.

Personally if your going to sell that contact Beckett. Your feedback is more than high enough to get a decent sale price, but I would expect them to pimp it for all its worth. At a minimum that might get you an article in beckett!

That's what I was thinking of doing, I saw that they guy who pulled the 07 National Treasures Thorpe cut went that route. Does anyone know how much they want to handle the process?

Hey, I actually used becketts auction service. Although they did a pretty good job, I don't think it's entirely worth it for you. They charged me 20% of final sale (they take care of everything like paypal and ebay fees). The only reason I used them is because im from canada and paypal only covers me on items over 250 USD if i send with signature confirmation. For some reason i dont understand, getting signature confirmation in canada from the usa is ridiculously expensive, so i just decided that its better for me to get beckett to do all the work for me.

I think if i listed the item myself and put it on buy it now, i could have made about 50-100 dollars more. Check the sport royalty kobe bryant card that beckett recently auctioned off, that was mine. The same card brought in 500 USD from a previous seller who used buy it now/best offer while mine brought ~400 off auction.

That is awesome!! I would definitely go with Beckett consignment, on a card like this I think their service will definitely pay for itself.

The other reason I'm considering their service is they will authenticate it. I suspect people will spend more knowing it is authentic.

And to all of the people sending PM's, I'm not ignoring them, I just am not sure what I'm doing yet.

I personally dont see how beckett aucthenicating this will do the card any good. What Beckett will give you is their selling credentials, and the use of their marketing.

Well, I guess getting it authenticated by JSA (since they are partnered with BGS) will give some people peace of mind that the autograph is real, since there have been issues in the past with Upper Deck and cut autos. It certainly won't hurt. But yes, you're mostly paying for their selling credentials and marketing.

Plus, you don't have to worry about chargebacks and paypal issues, right? Since selling on your own will cost you 8-10% in ebay fees and paypal fees, another 10% might not be too bad. Although it might be worth it to put it up yourself with a pretty high BIN and see what kind of best offers you get. Has Beckett sold a cut Gehrig card recently? On the Beckett website on one of their banners for their auctions, I think I remember seeing a Gehrig cut, so not sure if that was a past auction or a current auction. That might give you some idea of what it would sell for through Beckett.

Beckett just got back from their vacation so I was just contacted today about selling the card. I was asking the sales person some questions, and he mentioned that a Gehrig cut they have had listed for 6 months is not receiving offers close to the asking price.

I have my card on eBay, and have received a few offers that are for more than the card the Beckett guy was describing. The amount of offers on the other cut doesn't convince me that Beckett could bring in anymore. The other cut is #1/2 and doesn't have jerseys on it, would people pay that much more for the #1/1 status plus the jerseys?

I think you are corect they will pay more for a 1/1, and the addition of the jersey swatches makes it much more desirable!
