Default My neices first ginter pack - RIP /25

so my 8 year old niece got her first pack of ginter today - and she pulls a dan uggla rip card /25. She didn't know how much it was worth until I told her a idea today so now she has to decide to sell it and get some boxes or rip it. Any ideas of what the /25s are pulling?

I guess it benefits the seller but I can't believe how much people are paying for the really low-numbered rip cards.

The card inside has nothing to do with the SN on the outside right?

That's awesome! I'd ask her if she wants to open like 60 more packs or take the chance and get a 1/1.

Nicely done. BTW, if you ever want to know a card's value, you can search it in the completed listings section at eBay | Electronics, Cars, Clothing, Collectibles and More Online Shopping

She ended up ripping it and got a Josh Hamilton SSP - not bad, she really wanted a 1/1 but she was happy when i told her he was the mvp last year

An 8 year old doesn't care. It's about what she finds fun and enjoys, which is what a hobby is supposed to be.

There are collectors (1 or 2) who buy ENTIRE unripped rip set.

Have to pony up probably 20-30k every year.

Have to buy first one you can on Ebay because there is always the chance that somebody won't list some again.

Good for her! Glad to hear she had a blast. It's refreshing to see a perspective often lost in the shuffle of $$$.

You cant take the rip card with you when you die so might as well rip it and have fun doing it. Especially with an 8yr old little girl, thats what collecting is all about.

Im trying to teach him not to rip the base cards i give him.
Boy he would have a field day with one of these rip cards.
He would even have a hidden mini card to rip.

That's what I never understood either, why they are worth so much when most of them have just some plain SP mini inside of them.

That is one of the best posts I've read in a long time!Hobby is much more enjoyable when you collect for fun and don't give a damn about eBay value.

That's awesome. She can still sell the ripped card for a few more packs if she wants to can't she? I'm sure someone collects ripped sets as well haha. Or just keep it to remember she pulled it later.

she has plenty of cards to rip (let her help with any of my boxes) - thinking of getting a case of 2010 bdpp, she would be helping hand. She freaked when she got a entire box (2010 topps series 2) for herself for her bday a couple weeks ago.

really though shes been beyond lucky - shes entered in 6 diamond codes and got 3 die cuts (ive done around 30 best ive gotten is a 1954 common)

its funny though everytime she opens something she comes in to try to trade for mets cards... im really running out of any mets cards that could even be used as trade bait lol...

What a lucky girl! You should let her bust all your packs.
