That is where my dilemma is. This auction is up in someone's store. If there is only the one auto then it makes no sense to open it.

2007 TOPPS STERLING ROGER MARIS 3 PATCH CUT AUTO 1/1 - eBay (item 140199881327 end time Feb-10-09 18:43:26 PST)

jacob,
I am in $320 on the two boxes. The gold Mantle will get $50 (maybe more if I am lucky) The Bonds cards should yield around $50+/-, don't know about the Manny $5-$10? If I sell the Maris unopened at $225-$250. After luck and fees I will either be even or down about $20-$30.
If there is only the one auto and I open the box and pull anything good I agree that I won't get more than $200 for the contents.

Rip it - I don't think your intention was to just break even. Give it a shot and see what happens.

I am leaning towards opening it. I just want some opinions to the fact that the box weighs less than the Bonds box. would an autograph card weigh less because there would be a larger amount of the card removed for the signature?

No reason to open it. Sell it.

Does anyone know how many of the auto's might have been pulled? I know there are a few guys on here that busted a ton. I can only find the one auto.

I just couldn't resist opening it. It had a six piece card in it. I knew in the back of my mind that I wouldn't get an auto but it was worth the shot. I will scan tonight.

Man, I feel like I am back at school with all the percentages. This is a tough choice.

I have listed the cards on ebay. I found one other Mantle Gold that sold for $98! I never expected to get that but I figured if I was lucky I would get $65 for it. I listed it BIN/BO for $99. I have gotten two offers so far. One for $33 and one for $28. Was my expectation of $65 way too high? And what does everyone think I should get for it?

I feel that if I am only going to get $30 for it I will just keep it for trade bait.

ifish73 - I would highly recommend you update the picture on your Maris listing. That is a very nice card, and if I look hard enough I think I can see some pin stripes or at least some kind of interesting detail in the jersey swatches - but it's not terribly obvious unless you look very hard. Do a scan and upload a more clear picture showing those nice swatches and it will boost your final sale price guaranteed. Good luck!
