Default Todays Estate Sale Haul

Just happened to check craigslist around 1 am this morning before going to bed and saw an ad for an Estate Sale down south of me with crap tons of sports cards and memorabilia. Hard to sleep thinking about this event.

Woke up early to head south. I got a pretty early start to my day because I thought it would be slammed with people lining up to get in as soon as the doors opened.

Got down there to find out this guy rented a empty store in the mall to host this estate sale and...........there was nobody there in line when I got there before the store opened. I thought I was in Heaven..........I had the whole store to myself!!!!! WHooO HOOO!

Got in the door......talked to the owner who was a super cool guy suffering from several severe health conditions and he had all this stuff in storage for many years. I asked him........How much for all your wax unopened packs and boxes. He looked around for a minute and said 300 bucks for it all and you haul it out yourself. Done Deal!

They had so much stuff in sets and cardboard boxes that I wanted to pick up too but my wife was already going to kill me for this glorious purchase and really I only wanted the unopened un-searched stuff.

Here is my Estate Sale Haul for Sunday. Going to be a long time of wax bustin fun just like I was a kid again.

Oh my goodness. That brings back memories to my childhood. I really like the two boxes of 1992 Fleer Ultra. I think that might be my favorite product from the late 80's and early 90's. Have fun opening it and let us know if you find any treasures.

What are the orange looking boxes in the top right corner of the first picture?

It's 1988 O Pee Chee Hockey.

I've never had hockey cards before and now I have SOOOOOO much hockey from when I was a kid but never saw any before.

I even have 2 boxes of Canadian football league cards........Hmm that should be an interesting bust.

I shudder to think just how much junk wax like that is sitting in basements, garages, etc. throughout the country.

Nice haul brother. Another guy who will be having fun with some wax. I love purchases like these if I can get a good enough deal on them. Good luck & I hope you get something nice out of them. I will be looking at these pics when I get home to see what you bought.

honestly I think the seller got the better end of that $300 transaction.. most of that stuff you can't even give away and its not even worth the cardboard its printed on.

Haha! So that was you, eh? I happened across this place several months ago when they first opened. I went by today just to see what was left and he told me someone bought all the wax. I couldn't believe it. I've bought several wax boxes, but I have a lot of this sitting in my basement already especially the baseball. Hope you have fun. I didn't collect Hockey in the 90's so there were several fun breaks for really cheap. I picked up a couple loose boxes of hockey to see if I could find anything. Best I got was a UD Forsberg RC.

Also, let me know when you bust those O-Pee-Chee stickers. I bought a few boxes to see if I could put a set together but didn't get as close as I thought I would. :-)

Wow, that's a lot to pay for junk wax, but I'm sure you'll get a ton of enjoyment out of them.

Good luck...maybe you will pull a sweet Mark Rypien auto out of that fleer crap.

i would bust that stuff, pull out anything worth keeping, and put the rest of it in a big pile and burn it.

I'm sure you are going to find some good stuff in there along the way...just most of it will be junk...some of it will be cool though for sure...gotta be something good in all of that.

This is a lot of fun for me. I never had football cards or hockey cards in all my old 80's and 90's cards. I did not like those sports back when I was a young lad.

This is the first time I get to see these old guys and how cool is it to pull a barry sanders card or a Favre rookie? Brett Hull, Mario Lemuiex and those other hockey guys? I've opened 1 pack of last years donruss but never have I seen the older guys.

Having a bunch of fun......No buyers remorse Like when I bought a box of 04 topps chrome football and got a redemption

Just figure about $5 a box. So if you have 60 wax boxes (and it looks close), then you are about right for the cost.

A lot of it is junk wax because the boxes are not worth the price to ship them - kinda like a backwards mortgage (or is that an upside down mortgage?) - but you had free shipping - so you probably came out ahead.

Have fun!
