Default 2012 1 Bowman Hobby Box - Vintage Stock in OKC paying off (Scan)

Ive been starting some chatter about how Vintage Stock (regional used video games and movie store) can offer some pretty sweet deals because their prices don't fluctuate with demand (but most of the time bad deals). Always wondered what it would feel like to pull something like this.

It is gorgeous, haven't measured it yet, but centering is great, or so it appears. It pains me, because I know I have to sell it. I guess it would be silly for a small time collector like myself to hold onto it. But I will definitely try and scoop up a couple pieces for my lifelong PC (Chipper Desert Shield maybe!?:roll eyes with the earnings.

Too bad you didn't pull this a few days ago. You know, before Felix and the lowly M's laid the smack down on him @ Safeco Field.

Very nice! A guy at the card shop I go to hit the same card plus a Bichette auto in the same box and he wasn't even excited. If that was me I would be jumping up and down in the shop.

Great hit dude!!! i'm a small time collector/newbie ... and i'd be tempted to keep lol. Btw, don't mean to interfere with the thread, but is hobby generally worth buying a box? My lcs is out of jumbo...was curious.....

The jury's probably out....jumbo you get one more auto for the same price as 2 hobby, essentially. But how quality will that additional auto be, ya know?

Hobby is horrendous this year. The big hits are few and far between. Granted it's a small sample size, but it seems to be consistent with other breaks I've seen online, I did two cases of Hobby and three cases of Jumbo with my brother. In the two Hobby cases, there were five refractor autos and one blue refractor auto. I think there was a non-auto gold refractor in each case. That was it. In three Jumbo cases, there were three AFLAC autos, a red refractor auto, four gold refractor autos, six or seven blue refractor autos, at least twelve refractor autos, three printing plates, two non-auto red refractors, and three non-auto orange refractors. And one of those three Jumbo cases was a complete dud.

Jumbo boxes should probably sell for around $150+ and Hobby boxes should sell for, at most, $50. But even at 3x the price, a Jumbo box provides much more value than three Hobby boxes.

Sadly, your probably right. Jumbo is easier to sort too!

Do you go to the LCS in Edmond?
