Talking Allen & Ginter 2 Box Break.... 1/1!

I went back to the A&G well at the LCS today and ended up buying two more boxes from the same case. The same case that yielded a Roger Federer wood mini 1/1 and a Roger Federer auto. I figured there was still a rip card in there so I had to go back and give it another go. Heres what I got:

Relics & a Fashionable Ladies mini

And this Fashionable Lady

1888 Original 1/1 - The Worlds Beauties Visc'tess Castlereagh

Holy cow! That is AWESOME! I've always wanted an original A&G card... guess I'll have to hope for one as nice as that in one of my next boxes!

Well that is simply amazing! Just out of curiosity, did the A&G Original count as an extra hit? Also, did you get four hits per box? Or are these just hits from another break? In any case, congrats on the awesome hit! It is truly a beauty!

Thanks! It's a beautiful card. I love these originals. To answer your question, it counted as one of the hits, and the extra 2 relics came from some packs I opened out of an open box while I was there. All of the boxes I've opened have had 3 hits. The silk and original cards weren't extras. I don't think anyone would complain about that though.

I'd consider it. I also have several other Ginter relics. PM me with the ones you'd be interested in.

Nice hit, that thing is awesome!

I had to try and find the pics of the other girls in the set because she is frankly "not so beautiful" if you ask me

1 1888 ALLEN GINTER'S TOBACCO CIGARETTE CARD WORLDS BEAUTIES 2ND SERIES JARBEAU | eBay

ALLEN & GINTER - THE WORLDS BEAUTIES, SECOND SERIES 1888 - IRENE VERONA | eBay

definitely not "the world's beauties" imo

Ouch. fitch123 bringing the zingers tonight! Thanks for posting those other links! It is really interesting to see how our aesthetic sensibilities have changed since 1888, not only in what we deem as beautiful but also in the style of dress and even in our choice of given names. In my opinion, Topps has done a pretty good job of maintaining fidelity to the original Allen & Ginter cards through the look, feel, and general spirit of their products. And maybe this is what makes it so interesting to see exactly how much has really changed in all that time.
