Default Destroying the odds: 2011 Topps Update style

Long time break reader, first time poster...

About a week ago I found 2 2011 Topps update blasters and 2 rack packs at a Kmart. I know, theres still open Kmarts?

Anyway, got the blasters for 11.99 ea and the racks for 2.99 ea. I couldn't decide whether to rip or sell, and figured I'd roll the dice on Ebay. I listed them at "retail price" and figured I'd see what happened.

Here's the link: 2011 Topps Update 2 Box 2 Rack Pack Lot Trout Rookie $$$ | eBay

As you can see, no takers @ $49.99. So this morning I figured "what the hell?" and opened them over breakfast/Sportscenter.

Talk about absolutely DESTROYING the stated odds...

After 20 retail and 2 racks, I pulled 15 diamond anniversary (1:4), 12 cognac anniversary (1:12), as well as 2 DiMaggio SSP, 1 Jimmie Foxx SSP and a Hank Greenberg cognac SSP.

I was really happy after opening the 2 racks and getting a DiMaggio and the Foxx.

But 3 packs in to box #1 I pulled the other DiMaggio, and a ton of other inserts. Pack #1 in box 2 gave up the Greenberg cognac. And just for laughs, the very last card in the last pack was a Trout.

My one questions is about the Cognacs. They are all from different series. Two from Series 1, three for Series 2 and 6 from Update. All of the regular Diamonds are from Update.

And just in case anyone was wondering, my 2 manu-patches were Eddie Murray and Jimmie Foxx.

Everything FS/FT, PM me.

Cognacs didn't come out till the Update series, so that's why you can find them for all of the 3 series'.

Nice luck though - should definitely be able to make your money back and then some

Thanks for the info. I dont normally do Topps base, so I had NO idea that the cognacs were update "exclusive".

I'm about as happy as can be with the break, now I just need to get the motivation to list them on the Bay...
