2009 Topps Chrome Retail Fat Packs

Good afternoon,
After seeing the posts about these, I had to check them out myself and indeed these 4.95 packs from your local retailer do contain at least one refractor per pack. I was bored on my lunch so I headed down to Wally World and picked up 8 for $40 as I still needed some base to finish my set anyway. 8 packs yielded 9 refractors, I was surprised to see so much color. It actually impressed me more than my hobby break (other than the lack of an auto).

I got:
1 red refractor #'d to 25(Alex Gordon)
4 blue refractors #'d to 199(3 rc's, Ramirez)
3 x fractors(Jeter, Braun, Buerle)
1 regular refractor
and 3 more WBC cards.

Not bad, but should have went and spent the $40 on sushi instead for lunch.

I promise never to post retail results on here again. I thought this might be helpful for those trying to finish sets.

Thats a lot of blues + you got 1-Red so its not all that bad except for the fact its Alex Gordon...

The Jeter is nice!

I was suprised to end up with more serial numbered cards (color) than my 2 hobby box break that cost $128, but I would still rather had some sashimi instead.

Yes, you can get pretty good stuff in retail now you just have to know which one to splurge on...and I'll give you a hint.. most times it isn't anything UD produces

Hobby is good because you get the autos + a chance at a SUPER which you won't find in retail...

Sashimi ALWAYS wins here in Hawaii

i dont know much about the fractors and stuff.. but a while back in bowman chrome not topps.. i pulled a hanley ramirez auto RC xfractor out of 1 pack.. i know the cards worth alot but does the xfractor part make it alot more than refractor? im assuming?

Its a combination. Its the player on the card, its whether its a RC or not, its retail or hobby, also its the odds of the card in question. Bowman is a lot different than topps chrome...

I believe it is harder to get Xfractors in Bowman than it is in chrome no?
