Whatever happened to the guy who won this case? I wanted to see what autographs he pulled. I never found out if Griffey and Jeter autographs were ever actually put in this product.

I'm sure he'll be back for Black Friday. You know, swoopin' in and getting all the good deals then disappearing like a fart in the wind.

Believe me I smell you all the way over here. You best check your pants..
I did not pull any Autos besides $8-10 scrubs.
Didn't have time to post the breaks because there wasn't enough time to post 4000 cards or so.
Beyond that, 8 of the autographs were damaged as they had wrinkles in the cards.. So they sent me back 8 $10 autographs in return for them pretty much.
Anyhow, did get a YSL memorabilia of Clemens as the best card in the case.

Forgot all about this thread as it was.. oh well, better late then never.

If it wasnt for needing at least 2 cases (probably 3 or more) to do this set, I'd be tempted...well that and the $$ to do it as you'd never get your money back for it

I actually have a complete set now. I got the last 900 cards I needed to complete my set (800 of them came from this case)
So it was all positives for me.
I found a friend who wanted to build the set as well, so I shipped him about 1500 dups I still had left and he's got a 1/3 set already he's building on.

It's a true collector's set, defintely the biggest I've ever done besides 40 man.

How many cases did it take (minus the trading)?

That is exactly why I wanted the case. At the release price and how much the cards sell for on ebay you would take a beating on putting the set together for the price. Even as a set collector for your own PC it sucks to lose 2/3 of the value of your cards at release. Worse than buying a new car and how much it depreciates after you drive it off the lot. Do you know if the Jeter and Griffey were pulled from the autographs? For the first few months I never saw one posted.

I wonder how many people are trying or have put together the gold set?

I couldn't tell you on the autographs, but as far as this set is concerned it cost me about $210 total to complete this set. (19 boxes purchased) Beyond trading inbetween for singles. They had boxes of these for 4-5 for $100 shipped, so I bought them before they had this case for $100 dlvd for 12.

Minus trading, I bought 17 boxes total and traded for about 750-1000 ish cards
I only got about 21 dups throughout 17 boxes.
