I hit a Joba Chamberlain auto from something, and of course it was expired, 8 emails back and forth to UD netted me nothing. They say that they "can't do anything"...I say that's BS, if they want to keep customers, they'll figure a way around stupid redemptions that expire. I haven't bought and UD stuff since then.

First off, you can't expect a company to honor redemptions from now til eternity...there has to be a limit, and yeah it sucks but at least they give a few years. Second, unless you're related to Joba Chamberlain, who cares?

Sorry but yes you can. If they are willing to put redemptions in products instead of live cards, they should not expire. It's basically an IOU and they should be accountable iIMO.

it's an IOU with a time frame attached to it.... everyone knows that redemptions expire and that's the chance you take when buying older wax. we may not like it, but it is the policy for these card companies. and who are we to dictate policy for any company that we don't own? we either buy the product or we don't.

Hey I got you beat, Jeter auto/2, 50/50 chance of getting 2/2 that would have been sweet! I pulled it several months ago and I can't for the life of me find it anywhere in my house so you don't have to ask me if it's for sale! I called UD a couple times and they gave me the high hat..

oh man now thats a heart breaker!

I see both sides to this issue I guess, They give a good couple years to redeem which is a pretty decent window but at the same time if they wanna keep selling the product after that they need to extend the redemptions or pull that stuff from the shelf. I mean should they still be able to make money on product that advertises cards that no longer can be hit really, no i dont think thats right. Or they should at least honor it will something close to its value that is current.

Wouldn't it be nice if redemptions never expired unless a company went out of business?

There's really no need for redemptions to expire. Unless you make so many of them that you'd have to build a 100,000 square foot warehouse just to store them.
