Default 2013 Topps Heritage Hobby Box = My biggest hit

Hit my LCS (Heaven Sent in Tualatin, Oregon--great store, btw) this afternoon to buy supplies. Wasn't going to buy any cards, but broke down and grabbed a box of Heritage in hopes of completing my set. I am glad I did.

Besides a disappointing ad panel and the usual inserts, chrome and SP's (finally hit the Trout base card), I hit this:

Which wasn't that exciting, until I hit this:

Not bad. First color swap variant. Got to the end of the box, and no Venezuelans, no autos, no refractors. A dud of a box, until I realized what this card was:

Awesome. I read they're 1:52,232 packs and only 15 or so made. A year into the hobby and I finally hit a monster.

Just excited to share a great break. Thanks for looking!

There was a Ross Detwiler that sold for 750, so yeah, I'd say that's a pretty nice hit!

Thank you, guys! I'm pretty stoked, obviously. Until you hit something big, it's kind of hard to believe that it's even possible.

I haven't decided if that's exciting or scary, btw...

I still find it amazing that a non-auto, non-relic, base card looking piece of cardboard sold for $1,000.

Gotta love this hobby lol.

It might just be me and my lack of knowledge with this product, but what is significant about the Zimmerman? I don't really see what the big deal is with the card. Thank you in advance for filling me in.

Well, I can obviously see why those cards go for so much haha, but with the market flooded with GU, autos, patches, booklets, etc etc, it's just mind-blowing how much these prints can go for. 1K is like a weeks worth of work for some people.
