1965 Woody Woodward
1975 Lerrin LaGrow
1975 Stan Bahnsen
1975 Ellie Rodriguez

Nice to see some older stuff. I should try to get a bunch of these and put a 1975 set together at this rate lol. Too bad no Bretts or Younts if they're going to give me a bunch of '75s.

I joined the recent 70's party that seems to be going on around here with these cards:
Mac Scarce 1973
Mac Scarce / Pitcher / Philadelphia Phillies
Card ID Number: 6

Denny Riddleberger 1973
Denny Riddleberger / Pitcher / Cleveland Indians
Card ID Number: 157

Dick Allen 1973
Dick Allen / First Base / Chicago White Sox
Card ID Number: 310

Frank Duffy 1973
Frank Duffy / Shortstop / Cleveland Indians
Card ID Number: 376

Ted Simmons 1975
Ted Simmons / Catcher / St. Louis Cardinals
Card ID Number: 75

Ray Corbin 1975
Ray Corbin / Pitcher / Minnesota Twins
Card ID Number: 78

Tommy Helms 1975
Tommy Helms / Second Base / Houston Astros
Card ID Number: 119

Al Hrabosky 1975
Al Hrabosky / Pitcher / St. Louis Cardinals
Card ID Number: 122

Ed Herrmann 1975
Ed Herrmann / Catcher / Chicago White Sox
Card ID Number: 219

Wayne Twitchell 1975
Wayne Twitchell / Pitcher / Philadelphia Phillies
Card ID Number: 326

Am I disappointed? Only a little, but at least I didn't get any 80's or early 90's cards.

Seems like on the site that all the recently unlocked cards are all 1973 and 75 wonder why.

Was thinking the same thing. You don't suppose all the 50s and 60s have been redeemed already? I'd be really curious to hear how many cards total have been redeemed.

Judging from what I could put together....

4918 of the 1950s cards have been redeemed.
22710 of the 1960s cards have been redeemed.
39163 of the 1970s
41405 of the 1980s
16761 of the 1990s
21847 of the 2000s

Grand total = 146804

So going based on their site and my math, that would mean that only 14.69% of the million cards have been redeemed. I find it hard to beleive they would be out of 1950s cards by now.

I thought the code is already assigned to a card or just random? The first 3 I redeemed on the same day were in 50's, 90's, and 00's. The last 10 I redeemed on Sat. were all 60's.

Why would you keep redeeming them after like 30? You should have waited until it seemed like it was totally random like when you would get a fifty then three 80's then a 90 then a 60 etc...

Based on their Official Rules, it's completely random. I believe that way they can assure that all 2000 of their 'Prize Cards' are indeed given away. If you're wondering why they'd want to 'assure' this, it has to do with Sweeps law.

this program lasts for a year, maybe this is topps' way of saying "STOP SELLING OUR REDEMPTIONS ON EBAY AND BUY PACKS" and so theyre giving out shitty 72 and 75 commons and nothing else until the ebay thing slows down

Could be but then Topps would have hell to pay if someone found out and filed suit against them regarding the sweeps law. And this day and age it stands to reason that they would get caught. Either way you look at it, I would like to see more variety like we did the first week.

I redemed all 125 over 5 hours taking a break and just waiting and still pulled all 70's cards. Even did 35 last night around 10:00.
Every card was from 71/75 ALL COMMONS. Not seeing any more 50's cards?

stash your redemptions guys. I have been reloading the current redemptions throughout the day and I havent seen a single card outside of 1970-79. This IS NOT COMPLETELY RANDOM.

If you look at the '52 set, there are many cards still unredeemed.

Hold onto your redemptions until we see something other than 1973 commons released.....

I agree that not each redemption card is attached to a specific card in their inventory. I think the code totally depends on when you redeem I have redeemed 6 codes. The very first 2 (within a minute of one another) were both from 1988 Topps. How random can that be with 1000s of these codes out there? Then the last 2 I redeemed (again just a minute apart) were both from 1972. I believe that redeeming depends on the time and not the code itself.

A lot of ppl are going to be pissed too when they find out it's like $3 shipping for the firs card and like 50 cents per card after that. 99% of the cards in this promotion aren't worth half that. People are going to be pissed when they want all of their common cards shipped.

I just popped in 6 codes again and 4 were from 1972 and the other 2 were from 1975. I agree these arent random. Its kind of odd the way its turning out. I had hoped topps would make this thing a little more random and also assign specific codes to exact cards. Doing things the way they are now is a little rough. Id rather have that 4% chance of hitting a 1950s card than a 100% chance of hitting the 70s junk. Hope this changes up a little.

It will be back I am sure. I am just sitting on these codes like a mother hen... I am going to unleash these pigs as soon as I see 60s or 50s coming out again

I'm still thinking it is somewhat at random. I did 2 batches, 35 & 7. Both times there was a pretty good range in years (1952 John Merson to 2007 Doug Davis). I did however get 5 1987s including 2 Pete Rose's. Really can't complain about my results so far. Might end up doing more later. The 2001 Nomar auto doesn't hurt either

Pskell
But have you done any in the past say 2-3 days? That seems to be the sticking point on these being in the 70s. I just did another and got a 73 card. UGH

After reading these posts I contacted my software department at work and went to lunch with a very good friend of mine who is a software engineer and a rabid card collector like me. He told me the way they run these programs is they separate all the cards into batches and run each batch until it’s exhausted. They will add a few big names/high value items to keep you coming back for more (and yes each code on the back of the card is random but it’s random to when you enter it to the batch of cards that’s running). If you remember when it first started it was all 80/90/00’s cards with quite a few 50/60’s cards sprinkled in-HOOKED! Remember people lose interest after awhile so you start with late date commons then a week or two later move to earlier 70’s stuff that most people don’t have, but think it’s cool to get. The first week I got 21 cards from the 50’s and since then NONE! I will wait and hold my codes until I see better stuff on the redemption page. Oh yea if your paying $3 a code card for a .15/ .25 cent 70’s common on the net your crazy!

I am starting to see 1980 cards coming up as redeemed. It looks like the current redemptions are getting newer. Also per the announcement from blowout:

Topps Releases Details on Series 2 Baseball

In reference to series 2, it says "From the addition of T206 cards in the Million Card Giveaway..."

So, I wonder if this means there will be different code cards for series 2?

The codes don't mean anything don't you understand that by now, it is just a right to stick your hand in the bucket of cards, whatever trends the topps computer is on is what you will get, i am stockpiling mine until series two comes out, when that happens they will try to hype this up again by giving away a bunch of those old cards, or just wait for 60's trends
