What do you guys think? Is it better to keep one $300 card (52 high number) or trade it for 19 cards from 53-59 worth the same amount? My thought is its easier to unload a $25 card then it is to sell a $300 card. I dont know I am ready to pull the trigger but just dont want to see the 52 high go. I have 3 more 52's though (low number). What do you think??

Turtle...I would pull the trigger on it. Then again I am not looking to sell my cards afterwards...unless I am lucky enough to get a really high dollar card like a Mantle or Aaron rookie...then I would sell it. For a $300 card on ebay you could end up getting $50 these days, and you don't even know what condition it will be in yet. I say go for the trade....

NO WAY!!!! Would you trade my 100 Jeter base cards that book $300 for your $300 Jeter auto? Its alot tougher to find your $300 52 Topps high number than it is a bunch of dud commons from those years. Look on eBay at sales values and you will see. Alot of $20 cards dont get touched for $1 from the late 50's. I would personally strongly suggest you dont do this.

But also think of the odds...one 1952 might be in really bad condition if he trades for all the others chances are he will get some in very nice condition...just a thought. You are talking about Jeters...not 50's cards. He will be getting a lot of 50's cards in return for a 1952...not a bad deal in my opinion. But again...i am not doing this to sell mine afterwards I'm doing it for the fun of it and for collecting. I am not out to make money like most people are these days...unless I pull a card that is totally worht selling like a Mantle or Aaron rookie, then it seems worth selling. I got a few 1960 cards as i mentioned earlier. Al Kaline, Luis Aparacio, and Edddie Mathews and I'm keeping them, not selling. They are worth like $50 -$75 book each...not worth selling in my opinion, not for the $15 a piece I might get for them.

If you want a 1952 Topps high number that bad, just buy one on ebay for $20....I've seen many go for that price. No big deal....

I never said I wanted to sell them I just asked a question. I love collecting and really love the 52 series but that was a lot of cards. By the way I declined as he kept changing the cards . I have been collecting for 30 years.

I didn't mean anything by it, sorry if it sounded that way. I really wish they would start releasing more 50's cards even if they are commons, I just want to trade them all for something worth keeping.

No bro I was not mad at all I just get tired of opening my topps account and having 22 trade requests for my older cards for 1987 topps commons. I hope they let some good stuff good soon I am starting to lose interest.

I agree 100% , I had gotten some really bad trade offers as well. The prices for the unlocked cards are starting to fall a bit on ebay, i think a lot of people are losing interest.

New to the thread like smileysmile. Here are my pulls --
1961 Gil Hodges / Dodgers/ #460
1972 Darrel Chaney / Reds/ #136
1964 Phillies Team Card / #293
1990 Glenn Wilson / Astros/ #112
1992 Steve Sax / Yankees/ #430
1981 Reggie Jackson /Yankees/ #400
2009 Erik Bedard / Mariners/ #233
1988 Red Team Leaders /#81
1987 Dennis Powell /Dodgers/ #47
1987 Pete Rose x2 /Reds/ #200
1993 Chuck McElroy /Cubs/ #346
1998 Will Clark /Rangers/ #316
2005 Jason Giambi /Yankees/ #200
1973 Sam McDowell /Giants/ #511
1973 Cubs Team Card / #464
1972 Gary Sutherland /Expos/ #211
1966 Denis Menke / Braves/ #184
1976 Mike Vail / Mets/ #655
1958 Dixie Howell / White Sox/ #421
1974 Matty Alou / Padres/ #430
1965 Steve Ridzik/ Senators/ #211
1967 Larry Brown /Indians /#145
1973 Steve Barber / Angels /#36
1970 Alex Johnson /Reds /#115
1965 Lindy McDaniel /Cubs /#244
1974 Dave McNally /Orioles/#235
1974 Luke Walker /Pirates /#612

I got the Gil Hodges early on (also got the 2 '87 Pete Rose cards at the same time). Over last week or so, noticed I have gotten nothing after 1976. Yesterday, got the '76 mike Vail and the '58 Dixie Howell.
Spoke to a dealer at a card show and he pretty much agreed with Killerturtle -- he and his friend opened about 14 cases between the two of them and they haven't gotten anything jaw-dropping. They think we will see a lot more big timers come the release of Series 2.
Like everyone else, I am hooked! Great promotion.

** Curious about something though. I have gotten a few trade requests for my '61 Gil Hodges, but have been inundated with requests for my '92 Steve Sax. Huh?? Any ideas?

Keep the 1952 Topps High Number. They are incredibly rare and collectible. Trading down rarely makes sense.

The most common card being given away has to be the 1980 Mike Tyson card. I have seen at least 20 of these be unlocked in the last few days....this is getting very boring.

Has anyone received any of the cards they redeemed? I heard somewhere that they are stamping "million card giveaway" or something on the card. I can't believe they would something so stupid, but I just had to ask. Thanks.

I am hoping something interesting gets redeemed soon... this is getting boring.

Even a run of 50's cards isn't that interesting... I want something other than commons... even if I don't actually redeem it.

My first 50 I redemed I got 5 52's and 29 50's cards since then 800 redemptions with ZERO 52'S AND 12 50'S CARDS. If you need 87 topps I have a few dozen.
The other day I traded 39 cards from 87-97 for 1 53 common. This is starting to get old fast!!
