there is a good story behind it though.

my 7 year old daughter has become interested in cards.

but all she wants is the jersey cards.

so i was at the local store today. so i picked up a pack of 2007 ultra se for 12 bucks.

i gave her the pack tonight and she pulled a pat burrell jersey card. she was happy as good be. she poped it in a magnet holder and threw it in her box. i grabbed the base cards when i was leaving her room. and right on the bottom was the ichiro printing plate.

Wow! I cannot believe a guy asking a question is flamed like this. I thought this was the board of decency and humanity. It seems to be going downhill. Ya, he should have known that a 1/1 is good, but everyone talks smack on printing plates, so why shouldn't he ask. Come on guys, this is getting worse by the day.

Another good thing to do for your daughter is to have her favorite players or team sign the base cards. My daughter's bday is coming up so I am looking through my base cards and seeing who was born on the same day as her and trying ttm to get them signed for her. Then I'm going to put them in a binder for her. She is too young to understand now but hopefully she will appreciate it when she is older.

Collecting with your kids is fun. You can buy a box for 20 boxes and they love it. It really feels like a hobby.

In the last 3 months i have bought 6 boxes of national treasures 5 boxes of triple threads 2-3 boxes of sp authentic etc.. spent way to much money.

These seems alot more rewarding. My son is 3 so in a couple years it should be a blast

I think I agree with Fungi (despite our past differences), yes the question may have been annoying not knowing he was kidding, but to tell someone not to post again is kind of rude. Senior members should police, NOT seclude. I know people are coming from beckett boards and do not know how things work here, but cut them some slack, they probably enjoy the hobby just as much as the rest of us!

The printing plates are very interesting.

There are one of ones from say milestones that only sell for 20-30 dollars becasue there 500 of them. and there are non numbered printing plates that also do not very well.

From what i can tell with the kind of printing plate i pulled and being #1/1 on the back these are the most valuable. becasue i would guess there would only be four of these. cyan blue black etc.. i have seen a couple of others like mine selling from 150 all the way up to 330 for ichiro

also getting one of the most popular players helps alot. it is very cool card. i only collect high end autos. but i think i might keep this. pretty cool piece. mine is blue. And getting it for 12 dollars also helps

I guess i should not of made a joke. Did not think it would be a big deal.

some of the biggest morans on beckett have 5000 posts and some of the best reads are guys who have 100 posts. so posts numbers are so over rated.

And i have been collecting for 20 years.

Well i learned alot about this board.

The funniest thing to me how once some says something harsh. How many people follow up with great comment or funny comment.

Well to end the story on my 12 dollar ichro 1/1 pull i just traded the ichiro and a yaz auto for a mark mcgwire 2003 ud auto from a local store. so for around 40 dollars i got a 300 dollar card.

say what you want but you will not wipe the of my face.
