I enjoyed reading your post. My mother buys me some stuff every xmas also. It's usually low end packs and blasters but I see them as being very special just the same. I have a special box that I put all these cards in and they're considered off limits in terms of sale or trade bait.

Zoop, great post - really puts things into the proper perspective. I'm from the St. Louis area too. Just curious, have you ever been to Sports Card Dugout? It's a really nice card shop near St. Louis.

Yup I have. I used to go there often as a teenager but haven't been in a while. How are the prices these days? My fiancée actually works at the White Castle down the street from it.

Decent prices - his shop is really the only hobby shop I go to so I really have nothing to compare it too. I've been going there for a long time - it's just nice to have a shop that's been around for awhile and that's owned by a guy who knows about the hobby - I know that's pretty rare these days LOL!

I recommend the sports memorabilia place out in St. Peter's mall, too. Great prices and nice guys, always excited to see you break something in the store.
