Default FS/FT Just back from BGS, High-End Color autos

Just got these back in. Will consider trades for other high end prospect autos, but don't want more than 3 cards if I am trading down. All are OBO unless otherwise noted.

$350

$1500 (not in a hurry to sell this)

Updated with some new cards should have them next week.

Also have the Russell gold BGS 9 on eBay. I'd like $375 for it, if you thnk that is too high I think that is too bad because Russell is a stud

Don't hate...

Mike showed me where we had a couple 9.5s get all 10s except surface with an 8.5

I thought you can't have a 9.5 with an 8.5 sub even with 3 10s?

Nice cards BTW

I thought that too, but BGS weights the centering heavier than the others when they figure out the over all grade. As long as the centering is one of the 10s I guess it can happen. Sucks that it would be close to perfect if not for the surface, but oh well

would love that purple then I would just need the red and super for a 9.5 Rainbow. I'll think about it.

another bump for great cards.

no you can get a 9.5 if and only if the surface is the lone blemished 8.5 with trip 10s.

Open to a cash/trade. I'd love to pick up a Bundy gold 9.5 if you have a spare

I go by SV, i have not bought a beckett in years. No Point in trading a card that sells for 20 and books 100 for a card that books 100 and sells 100.

Bolded statement above is incorrect. Beckett weighs the LOWEST SUBGRADE the heaviest. Per their site:

"The overall numerical grade is not a simple average of the four report card grades. Beckett Grading Services uses an algorithm which determines the final grade using the 4 sub grades on the front label of the card holder. The lowest overall grade is the first category to observe because it is the most obvious defect, and the lowest grade is the most heavily weighted in determining the overall grade."

However, the rule of thumb has always been that a card CAN grade up to a full grade higher than the lowest subgrade, so you're 8.5 sub doesn't necessarily keep you from getting a 9.5 as long as the other 3 subs are enough to get it up, which your three 10's obviously were.

Agree. If that got a 10 on centering I'll never spend another dime grading with BGS

I have 2, both got 9.5, I doubt the one I have scanned was the one that got a 10 centering. Thanks for the bumps, it was a BGS representative that told me about the weight of centering when I called to ask about a card I submitted last year. It is entirely possible that I misunderstood what they were telling me.

No reason to get defensive, I wasn't trying to be rude to you, just pointing out that the "centering is weighed most heavily" notion is fairly common but is, according to their own FAQ, incorrect. Their rep may have very well told you that. Just because someone tells you that something you said iappears to be incorrect doesn't mean they're insulting or being rude to you or showing off.
