ESPN - Francoeur recalled, felt 'betrayed' after demotion - MLB

Wow that was fast. Wonder if they will just trade him now.

As a Braves follower for over ten years, I thought that it was a good idea to place him in the minors for awhile. I was part of the 'booing crowd' (Figuratively speaking, I wasn't actually their in the crowd). Calling him back up 3 days after demoting him was a bad idea. He has been batting awful all season compared to his last two seasons, especially during the at-bats that really mattered. Calling him down for awhile might have given him a chance to catch his swing again. But doing something like this would mentally hurt anybody. I'm sure that his concentration at the plate will only get worse.

I think that they recalled him because Jason Perry, the minor leaguer they used to replace him, turned out to be awful at the plate and didn't really produce anything. If Francouer continues to bat at the same pace as he has been for the remainder of the season I think that they should trade him. The Braves may have a losing record but thank God they traded Andruw Jones and kept Mark Teixeira. I don't know if Andruw Jones will ever get his stride back. If it weren't for his amazing glove he (Andruw Jones) wouldn't be of much use at all.

Enjoy Teixeira while you can, he'll be gone from ATL after the season.

Agreed. There is no way he will make it to the trade dead line. Besides C.C. he is the biggest name in the group rumored in trade talks and probably the only other real difference maker as well.

If Ortiz can't swing a bat without pain within the next two weeks Teixeira will be playing for the Red Sox before the end of July. Mark it down right now, and remember I said it. LOL

Yes he will be in NY for eitheir the Mets or Yankees. I personally don't like Teixeira and don't want him, the few games ive seen him play at Yankee stadium he has stunk it up, but of course who else will replace Giambi at first?

Or dare I say it....Bonds maybe???

Could happen, someone goes down on one of the AL teams and they need a DH.

All will be known within a few weeks with Ortiz. Rumor has it they have even talked about Bonds. But they said he wouldn't do well in Boston.

I cant see the Mets going after Texiera. They will most likely pick up delgados option and go after someone like Aubrey Huff or maybe even try to get Mike Jacobs back. Rumors are the Marlins want to bring up Dallas McPherson so that makes Jacobs expendable.

The Mets have zero players in the minors to even try to trade for Texeria not that the Braves would ever trade with the Mets.

I doubt Bonds will go anywhere. I think Bonds would be a good option if Ortiz is or Matsui is out for the year, but I doubt that will happen. The Mets might also need to have him when Alou gets hurt again. However I doubt anybody will ask him back unless the team is really hurt.

If the Mets or the Yankees signed Bonds it would be a public relations nightmare.
