Default Mariners Release Richie Sexson

Mariners release first baseman Richie Sexson | Mariners.com: Official Info

Oh, they also put Bedard on the DL. There was rumors that they were looking to trade both these guys, and this of course isnt going to help them out. Do you think it was a good move to release him?

Sexson brought nothing to the team, should have been cut 2 years ago..

Now how will I know when to get up and beat the lines to the concession stands? It used to be when Richie was up with two outs...

This year I don't think it really matters

We got so lucky trading him to the D-backs years ago right before he started to suck. I think the Brewers got like 6 guys for him, and then traded several of those guys for even more guys who contributed - it was the gift that kept giving. We got today's pitcher (Dave Bush, 13 K's today) as well as Zach Jackson (send to Clevelenad as part of the Sabathia trade) as part of the Lyle Overbay trade, who we got in the Sexson deal.

It's just amazing to see how good he was, and then how awful he became - there wasn't much middle ground.
