What suggests shilling in this case?

The zero feedback bidder has 7% bid activity and the one feedback bidder has 1% bid activity.
Looks like another backfire thread.

I never buy from them. Their prices are always higher. Just seems fishy since all other prices fall in line but they stand out.

Buy this lot then and make money. Someone shilled it, could be the person who sent it to Probstein, who the F knows.

I guess the sarcasm was lost. I apologize.

Clearly, they are subject to people being complete arses and bidding them up with bogus accounts. I don't think they 'use' shills, but I do believe the owners shill them up.

Except that it sold for 9x the price of a larger lot of the same card....

Absolutely. They certainly look the other way.

This is why you see the same card sold 5x over within a two week period. Definitely NOT helping the hobby.

They recently had a bunch of lower end graded Trout cards. I bid on, and won, 3 of them, 2 pretty much at going rate and one was a little lower than average. I looked closely at the bidding history on all, but saw nothing fishy. While it is certainly difficult to offer a legitimate explanation for the above, I don't think it's always the case. In fact, I wonder if the talk doesn't scare off some buyers?

I delved a little deeper into this case becuase I have a lot of 40+ I need to list soon and there seems to be two buyers (one zero feedback and one with one feedback) that seem to be going back and forth on these larger auctions.

Here's another one where both bidders are aggressively pursuing a smaller lot with high per-card prices:

HUGE 2017 BOWMAN ANDREW BENINTENDI 30 CARD ROOKIE LOT BOSTON | eBay

Same two buyers.

Nothing to see here...just the beauty of eBay sometimes. Two fools going after the same lots for some reason.

There is a 23 card lot for $26 BIN. They are going after the lots, they are just being aholes. No doubt they will be relisted.

Not necessarily applicable to this case, but I love when people dismiss potential shilling based on bid % with seller. Easiest way to cover your tracks is bid hundreds of times on stuff you know you won't win to lower that bid with seller number. It's not rocket science. It's especially easy to spot when it's 0 feedback bidders with 1000 bids. That's an obvious shill account.

There's little/no doubt in my mind that either of these lots will be paid for and will end up being relisted.

In this case though the bidders only have a 3% and 7% bid history with the sellers. It's not suspect IMHO.

Why the heck would anyone pay $200+ for a lot that's worth no more than $40? This isn't real. No one is paying for that lot.

I disagree. There is an unpurchased lot at barely over $1/card, but auction listings are getting over $10 a card?

It's extremely suspect, given the 'new' accounts with a bunch of bids and no feedback who just happen to both bid on lots just like the one in the OP.

Classic pump and dump.

Someone just put in a monster bid on my Benny listing. Looks like someone is trying to jack up lot prices...

Hilarious part was they (or "they") both knew to bid $101.

This will be the fourth or fifth 10 card lot I'm selling and none have went for me than $20.

Is one of the bidders rangersastros347(1)? I have a 16 ct lot up, and he's the high bidder.

Check out the 1 positive feedback - he didn't pay.

Gonna go cancel and block.

edit: Cancelled. He bid 102 on mine.

Probably just trying to pump his listings on another account.
