Like I said in the other post ... This is GREAT!

Makes this an even better rip/flip product!

Is this generally a good product to flip?

From what I've heard ... yes ... if done correctly (meaning ripping, sorting, and listing Day 1) and you open a few cases.

There are a couple of threads on this subject in the Baseball section.

Very interesting reads ... I may try it this year

Yeah obviously not a rip-and-flip if you're only buying a box or two but if you buy cases you can get plenty of complete sets, a few good autos, etc.

hock3591 01-25-2011 11:47 AM

nice. would prefer some modern stars mixed in with the guys in the '52 set though.

Sports Fan Ston 01-25-2011 11:51 AM

I wonder what these will sell for. Topps Chrome wrappers seem to be riding around $50-60 or just a little more for a case's worth and Bowman Chrome looks to be sitting right at $100 for a case's worth.

More cards per pack, but a bigger checklist and there will be people that hate the autograph checklist.

Any guesses?

hock3591 01-25-2011 11:56 AM

On 2nd thought i think the die hard topps collectors will love the auto set. hmm.

dd316 01-25-2011 12:03 PM

It's great to rip and flip once someone spots what the shortprints are (pie, lincoln, squirrel, etc.) - those cards sell for ridiculous $$$, of course they're usually ridiculously hard to pull...

mld218 01-25-2011 01:00 PM

Presell case prices just went up, Jumbo cases up about $90 and Hobby Cases are up over $200 since the announcement.

mzimmerman81 01-25-2011 01:09 PM

Glad I locked mine in last week!

Boy how quickly we forget about what happened last year. I hope all of you do well I really do. I will be waiting until a week or two after release to see how the market reacts first. Then I will buy. Does anyone have the auto checklist yet. I can't seem to find it. Last I heard they are holding back on it until the release.

It's Topps, the Autos are about the 900th thing people look for when buying this product

IndySportsCards 01-25-2011 01:22 PM

Finally they get it right! Announce BEFORE the product hits

the checklist is complete - for the most part. lots of TBDs in the base set. TBDs for the world champions stuff, the topps 60th anniversary autos, and a couple relics i think.

natbornkiller 01-25-2011 01:25 PM

what collalation problem is causing the production of another wrapper redemption program

That's ridiculous! I better get my case from ebay or I'll be pissed!

Yeah I saw that one, but not a complete one. Guess they won't have it until the release after all. I hope this goes well.

probably nothing more than the norm, my guess is its one of these reasons

A)these were bonuses that were going to be added and were forgot
B)they noticed how much the previous redemptions helped sales boost
C)they had already been planning on this bonus redemption for the anniversary, hence the early announcement

though im leaning more towards B or C, A is definately not out of consideration, lol. Though i dont see this wrapper redemption being nearly as big of a draw as BC or TC was, such a price hike is just wishful thinking on BO's part.

or
d) they printed more than ordered - and the demand was not quite there

oaklandasfan 01-25-2011 03:06 PM

they want you to rip rip rip lol

maculay75 01-25-2011 03:20 PM

easy rip n flip every year. Even if you wait a few weeks you can usually at least break even...Add diamond program and wrappers and this is a sure thing

37Jetson 01-25-2011 03:44 PM

Blowout's Price on Series 1 hobby went from $619.99 to $849.99 today! I think they have their thumb on the scale on this one. This price is no longer competitive with the market.
