I loved last year's Masterpieces but was skeptical about this years and decided to pass. I wasn't about to spend roughly $65 for 72 cards that included only 1 auto, 1 relic and 3 UN-numbered parallel cards. Last years product had 1 auto, 3 relics, 7 parallel cards AND a 5x7 framed painting card (with autograph versions) for the same price per box.

The auto checklist had some good names including retired players but the majority featured weak to average players. Also, Upper Deck usually really short prints the good name players leaving you with a case full of autos like Adam LaRoche, Brandon Phillips and Bill Hall.

hmmm...that sounds sooo upper deck! I bought last years as well, not a bad looking set but it took forever to make!

I figured the set would be down this year just based on the sell sheet, but just wanted to see if anyone busted it anyways and pulled anything good, but looks like UD blew another one....

I bought last years as well. I really like the card design and loved the on card autos. I'm not big on all the different variations though. I absolutely agree about the autos. After completing the set I was left with a bunch of variations and an andy laroche auto. It is a fun product for set builders but stay away if you are going to rip and flip or if you are searching for autos. Also, if it's anything like last years I'd wait because the price will continue to drop.
