Omar Minaya can't be THAT dumb! With Delgado and I think Pedro and Perez as free agents, I would think they would make a push for C C Sabathia. Reyes, Wright, & Beltran are enough offense if they can get the right kind of role players to go with them.

Why are Mets fans looking at this trade rumor that I hope never happens as a negative. If this happens it will be the worst trade in Yankees history. Ian Kennedy will be a solid #3 in the weak NL, Cano may be the best 2nd basemen ever if he starts trying, and Veres will be perfect closer/set up man for the Mets. In exchange the Yankees will be getting an over paid outfielder who is past his prime who they passed on a few years ago. I hope this is just a idea being thrown out there for the Padres can pull the trigger for Peavy for this same exact package + another prospect or 2.

Do it yesterday! Beltran has never worked at Shea Stadium, I don't know what the deal is. Cano still has upside and can you imagine what he will do to NL pitching. You can get a center fielder. Mike Cameron is a free agent this year and he was great out there. Sign Cammy to a one or two year deal while F-Mart gets ready.

thats a horrible trade for the yankees. why would they pick up cano contract?? will the muts pick up beltran overpriced contract.

This is not going to happen even if its true... there are a number of 'rumors' circling about Cano BUT I don't think its wise for the yanks to trade him when his value is probably at its lowest-just not smart! We need to wait and see if he can make an attitude adjustment over the winter....

C'mon Yankees please make this deal so you can take yourself out of contention for 2009. Hank, I believe Beltran is worth 5 Years $135 Million. There might be a bidding war.

KRod wants 5 years 75 Million I dont think he is worth that. Unless Mo wont be ready in time for the season I dont see why they would sign KRod and I cant imagine KRod wanting to be anything but a closer and he wont be that in the Bronx
