Weather that is true or not, you cannot end the deciding game of the WS because of rain. Baseball is losing fans as it is, ending the series because of a rain out would make it the laughing stock of sports.

If the Rays end up coming back to win the Series I would say they have some sort of a curse against them just like the Cubs do. I know that its been 100 years for the Cubs but to have one title in a franchises very long exisitence (1883) there has to be some sort of curse involved.

Hopefully the rays win after the additional day break so that we can play on into Halloween!

They never should have started the game last night. It was already raining, and a simple check of weather radar showed it only getting worse. They should have pushed back the start and then canceled it, like today. |

This is true..they really shouldn't have even started the game if they knew there was a chance of big rain...it throws off the whole rhythm of the game because now you gotta wait a few days anyway!

The weather report called for a tenth of an inch last night BUT....when the first drops started to fall before the 5th and radar indicated more and more rain!!
At that point the game should have been stopped. This would mean start from inning 1 not wait 2 or 3 days and start at the bottom of the sixth. Not sure if everyone would agree with that but it's better planning financially and it never would have chanced the integrity of the rules. Speaking of curses....Selig must have some kind of curse on him, to think no other commish has had to make these kind of crazy calls in his time is amazing! (All-Star games with no reserves to play, Expos, Steroids, Replay, Inter-League Play, Wild Card Teams and now this WS)

Selig got saved by that run in the 6th in spite of his stupidty in starting that game. There were conflicting weather reports I guess because the one I saw showed one continuous mass coming through. I think that .1" forecast was from the day before. 30% chance of rain tomorrow with wind chills in the low 30s. Thats not baseball weather. They should wait til Thursday night when it will be a balmy and clear 52 degrees.
So many worse case scenarios got avoided with that run. NO WAY could they give the Phils a title on a 5.5 inning game but technically thats the rules. Wonder what they'd do if the game was lopsided for either side ? What sucks is the Phils lose Hamels who was tossing a pretty solid game until the mound turned to mud . He only threw 75 pitches through 6 so he had at least one or two innings left. Now its all about the pens in a 3.5 inning game. Philly is 1 run and 9 outs away from their first championship in 25 years. Sounds easy but I know better....
