I find it funny that ppl are going nuts off the 1st auction. I sold a Justin Masterson Topps Update gold card from 2008 for $30 because I was the first one with one on ebay. Of course the first is always the best but the whores have already screwed it by stealing his picture.

I think WE (meaning YOU) are naive to think that somebody isn't driving up the price...nobody in their right mind would be paying that much for a base card. It's up to $125 now when there has been no other prospect that's come close (and don't give me the whole LeBron of baseball speech, lol)

While I agree with you about the 1%, a $hit-ton of people consult this site just for the info without ever becomming a member or making a single post. Everyone at the local card shop I go to knows about Blowout and most of them have never posted online. Alot of people use their computers like an encyclopedia and never realize the full potential.

no where did i say that somebody isn't driving up the price of that particular card............. i simply said that WE are a small part of the huge Harper hype.

but for every 1 person that comes to this site..... there are 10 who probably have never heard of it. hell.... i know of 3 LCS owners that have never heard of Blowout. at least not until i mentioned it to them.

Obviously over-production COULD be an issue (in retail) but hasn't it always been said that hitters are more hyped than pitchers in terms of prices? Doesn't that mean Harper's hype should eclipse Strasburg's? Or was he (Stras) the ULTIMATE prospect or BEST of the BEST?

2011 bowman i'm sure is over produced but it'll be absorbed as there will be a ton of demand

interesting point. the question is where will the prices be when harper plays for the yankees? he has made it known he grew up a huge yankee fan & dreamed of playing for them.

Yes, again I agree, but from the 1%, word of mouth is exponetial. It would be very possible for the hype to start here, and on other forums, and spread by word of mouth exponentially to a much larger percentage of the collecting world. Just you mentioning Blowout at your local hobby shop could have influenced several people to "check it out".

Checked on the card. This sucks. Folks stole the pic (I reported) Tons of 0 feedback bids popping up I'm having to cancel. If you look, I'm the only one that posted other cards. Anyone have any advice about what I should do? I don't want to go to bed and wake up with a $1000 bid that no one will ever pay.
