Default Anyone ever ship this way?

I know people tend to use bubble mailers but I am toying with the idea of a regular #10 envelope with bubble wrap around the toploader. Seems to be the same thing but should be able to do it with a regular stamp versus added postage for a 6-9 mailer.

Anyone ever ship in regular envelopes? Any real reason not to since it'd be cheaper for the envelope and the postage?

I received a card in the mail that way today, ironically. The shipper used a 6x9 manila envelope, though, with the card wrapped in bubble. The card came through fine (was in a toploader and team bag).

#10 envelopes with thick items in them tend to get ripped off by postal workers. I would suggest against doing that.

if your card is over $10 pay the postage..........

if your card is under $10 and flat, a envelope with a stamp is ok. make sure it's soft sleeved, top loader & wrapped in paper.

I wouldn't do the #10 envelopes as like said above not only do they get ripped off by postal workers, but they aren't very strong and may rip apart in transit. What I have been using is a 6x9 Metal clasp manilla envelope found at staples, office depot, etc. When its a cheap base card or insert I ship it in that envelope just in a top loader with 1 stamp on it and have yet to have a problem. As for the higher priced items I rap the top loader in paper towells, then put it in the 6x9 envelope and use paypal shipping labels w/ DC. Saves a good amount of money for yourself, especially now that the blood sucking leeches that Ebay is are taking a cut out of your shipping charge, yet they have the balls to tell you to only charge what it cost you to ship the card.

I was talking about low price items <$20. Agree 100% for higher priced items.

Every card I send gets shipped the same way:

Penny sleeve<Toploader<Team Bag<Two White Things<Used Bubble Mailer from mail received<6x9 Yellow Envelope

10 Pack of envelopes cost $1. Roughly 90% cheaper than a new bubble mailer every time (if you buy them from the store)

I buy bubbles from esupplystore.com

Pretty cheap the more you buy versus paying $5 or so for 10 at Walmart.

I like the used idea! How much is USPS postage for a 6x9 with 1 card in it?

$1.75 with DC if you ship online.

I do the penny sleeve, toploader, team sleeve thing but then I put it in the middle of two pieces of cardboard and wrap it in one sheet of bubble wrap, then put inside a 6 x 9 bubble mailer. Total cost of all packaging material is $.22 (counting top loader).

Delivery confirmation packages need to be .75" thick or the post office can bounce it back to the sender. Toploader alone in a bubble mailer isn't thick enough.

same here i carefully cut the top open on bubble mailers when i receive them and then re use them... saves money!!
my basic shipping method and i get postive reviews on my packing from almost all sales.. is card in top loader in team bag with a decoy on each side of the card then a thick piece of cardboard on each side also tape the team bag shut and fill rest of bubble mailer with paper scraps so it doesnt slide around.. knock on wood my cards usually make it safe and sound
