Default 2011 Topps Marquee

Wow, this actually looks pretty appealing to me. I typical think the designs on these so-called higher end cards are uninspired at best, but these look pretty classy to me.

Agreed. Gorgeous looking cards. Miles ahead of Sterling and Tribute's designs.

Looks like it's the baseball version of 5-Star that they did for football. Would be better if they were on card autos though.

I wonder the price for boxes. If there $100 or less I'm going to maybe pick up a case.

There are 25-50 "rookies" every year no one cares about. I'm guessing most of thsoe guys are in this set?

It scares me that it says "rookies" not "prospects" though.

that's what i mean,,,,,,,,,,, Rookies are bad. Prospects are good. although, it does depend on who gets called up early enough.

I think it means 75 players including rookies and veterens.
Just thought that would make more sence.

Yup I like the idea of getting some HOF autos and some current players. Only 12 cards per box though if I read correctly. 144 to a case.

If that guy gets all that information about the set, why can't he post the suggested cost?

How are distributors supposed to jack up the price then?

It said "At a mid level price point" that is what the write up said about Bowman Platinum last year when they were first introduced.

This stuff looks great. Id guess around 165 a box? Says its releasing late August which should be interesting with Topps Chrome and Lineage also releasing late August.

So looking at the checklist it has 120 subjects for the Museum Collection. 1 of these will fall in every 12 box Master Case at a print run of 10. So really only 1200 cases of this? Seems like a very short print run for a mid range product. Also seems like a very loaded product for the price. Maybe my math is wrong....

Blowout has these for presale at $178.99 for a 20-card box. If $9 a card is the definition of "mid level price point," I think it's time for me to find a new hobby. This is ridiculous.

I don't collect baseball cards but these are very well done. I especially love the lack of border(s) in the base cards, just the image, player name and set name, looks very nice.

So I guess the prices that were posted yesterday was a mistake and they pulled them?

I think it was $89.99 for a hobby box, but then a short time later they were pulled. I received a tweet about the new release, went to the site and looked and it was only $90 a box. If you go to the PIP thread there were a few people talking about it, then it said email for price/availability
