Looks like the 3 posted are the only ones out there. My searches are coming up with base of those 3 guys, Gwynn, Yount, and Seaver.

It could be someone that participated in the Topps TV case break. Last year there were 3 or 4 hits from that break on ebay like a few days before the release date.

They do the Topps TV breaks down in Orlando I believe. Where is the seller? Although possible the person who obtained them is using someone else to sell them.

Just wondering, since you get one hit and the rest base (and the mystery pack), is Sterling really all it's cracked up to be? Or do people usually swap boxes for players they want?

I mean, sure something like Triple Threads was very spotty but you get cards of very similiar design but there were a ton with a few hof guys on a single card. I'm not trying to be a dick...I've only been back into all of this since spring so this will be my first experience going through this product going live.

Is it just super high end because Topps and the price point say so? I know this year's cl is really great, so is the draw the perception that you have a legit shot of hitting one of the really big guys?

Sterling is great if you have a scale.

mightbe - I wouldn't say that you have a legit shot at hitting one of the big boys. I would think that you might get one of the "top" players in every 2 or 3 cases. I haven't heard anything about them being guaranteed like last year. Prime Cuts is cheaper and could potentially have some very high $$ cards in it. But it hasn't been produced since 05 (I think), so I don't have anything to compare it to like with 07 Sterling.

If you buy a few cases of Sterling I think it's a pretty good product. You can usually make up your $ with a few big hits across a few cases.

Do some of you own a card store or are you fortunate enough to have a lot of money (or maybe both)?? I can't imagine (as much as I would love to) buying a few cases of Topps Sterling.

However......if anyone would like to donate a few cases of Topps Sterling to me then I think.........I would probably......perhaps.....might.....just accept it! Heck, we can even call it a Christmas present. (thought you could use a good laugh)

Any takers??? Chris,Pat??

i don't really think you can make your money back through just one case. in my experience it usually takes a few cases to even it out.

wow ..sucks for whoever opened those boxes of sterling .....they are instantly out 3/4the of their money....
theres only 5-6 boxes out of all the "amzinggggg" names that will probably be worth their weight.....
more
could you imagine being the schlub who saves up their money only to reveal "jim palmer" as the name on their box...

It's impossible to lose 3/4 of your money on a box of Sterling - That would mean that all your cards in the box would sell for $60.00.

everything in my clemens box from last year sold for 40..4 pieces of white jersey #d/10 ...a card that didnt belong in topps series one...much the less sterling

get a jim palmer or tony gwynn or paul molitor non-auto 4 piece jersey card /10 as your "hit" and then tell me youre gonna make 1/4 of your money back..not a chance...but its all about the chase right

I have a question about the Mystery Packs. I've only opened on box of Sterling 07 and got an unexciting Ichiro white suede. Is it worth opening these packs or should I sell them?

Is a 10 box case guaranteed anything from them? Are those jumbo patches only found in those? I don't get that because wouldn't it be totally obvious if it was a giant patch rather than a base parallel? Would people even buy them then?

My case will arrive Wednesday, unless the weather is killing ups, as it's being drop shipped from my state. I think I'm going to open the main boxes, check the players, and then decide about the Mystery packs. It's just that, I've always opened all the Chrome or Bowman boxtopper packs and they've been brutal. I always regret it. I'm hoping I get a case like Cubfan86!
