2011 Heritage Minor League Edition: More Harper-Mania

The long-running Topps Heritage baseball line is taking a trip this summer.

A trip down to the farm.

Topps unveiled the basic product information and preview images for a new Minor League Baseball line on Tuesday afternoon, 2011 Topps Heritage Minor League Edition, which will arrive in mid-September with three very notable inclusions.

Bryce Harper, Bryce Harper’s autographs and Bryce Harper’s first professional non-1/1 game-used Relic cards. (And they won’t be easy pulls.)

Each 24-pack box of this hobby-only product that carries the design of the 1962 Topps set will contain two autographs, one Relic and four numbered parallel cards. It’s only the second overall product line used for MiLB cards by Topps since it landed the exclusive license beginning last year.

The only way I can see this product not being successful is if the autos are case hits and it's filled with a bunch of low end game used cards.

Another post on these showed the autos as stickers...wonders if that is true for all of them? Just Bryce? It had pics of the sticker autos...icky.

Harpers autos are limited to only 54 if Im reading this right? Thats a near impossible pull.

Topps didn't price the Bowman at $100......... the secondary market did that.

these should be right around the same factory direct price as regular Heritage, but of course the secondary market will kick these up to $100+ a box.

Not sure about this. Minor League Uniforms over MLB stuff. I think I will pass. I do like the 62 look but I would rather have him in his Nats jersey.

Harper’s Real One on-card autographs will be limited to just 54 copies with the following signed on-card parallels: Printing Plates, Black border (1/1), Green Tint (/5), Red (/10) and Blue (/25). That’s fewer than 100 autographs for the entire product.

There will be a single Harper signed jumbo patch card while his standard Relics will include a piece of a base from his debut game in the Arizona Fall League. There will be a Black 1/1, a Green (/5), a Red (/50) and a Blue (/100).

99 total harper autos

1 Auto Jumbo Patch (pictured on sell sheet)

156 "memorabilia cards" which will be GU bases

Assuming a 2k case production run, pulling a harper auto will be ~1 in 20 cases and pulling a auto or memorabilia card will be ~ 1 in 8 cases

Harpers will be very tough to come by in this product

Lets see if I can figure out production run

Stated odds = 4 numbered base parallel pulls per box

The base set will consist of 200 cards with 50 short-printed All-Star cards found one in every four packs.

The set will be paralleled just like the Harpers via printing plates and Blacks (/62), while the set will be divided by Blue tints, Red and Greens each limited to 299. Only 50 cards from the set will be found on Greens, while the other two colors divide the remaining cards in half.

The 250 card set will have 50 Greens, 100 reds and 100 Blues all numbered to 299

=74,750

The 250 card set will have blacks numbered to 62

=15,500 cards

The 250 card set will have 4 plates for each card

=1,000 cards

91,250 total base parallels/4 per box = 22,812 boxes @ 12boxes per case = 1900 cases produced


This is assuming I interpreted beckett's wording correctly. If there is in fact a Red, Blue and Green parallel of each card in the 200 card set then this case number is obviously much higher.

But this is assuming ideal collation because no doubt their will be some boxes than contain more and some that contain less so this would be a best case scenario amount no?
