Default Dumb move on my part...

I just busted my Sterling Ty Cobb box...very nice looking card but I regret it, lol. Although, really with these guys if it's open vs sell pretty much anything less than a cut auto will disappoint you.

MODS Please feel free to move this to the breaks section as this is the direction it's gone.

But you would always wonder what was in there? I would've done the same. Let's see a pic......

I ended up opening all the ones that would've bought decent money I'll resize pics and post soon. Oh, opened all the mystery packs which actually weren't too shabby.

They put swatch odds on the boxes as 1:10. I got Bob Feller.

Mystery packs with nice numbering...just need to find idiots like in those Beckett videos that call them 1/1...it's like, hello, anything serialized is a 1/1...it's not like there are 300 copies of a card serialized 172/250.

I kept sealed:
  • Reggie Jackson
  • Whitey Ford
  • Carl YazsomethingI'dbutcherspelling
  • Frank Robinson
  • Bob Gibson

These are all available and obviously likely contain autos.

I thought this might be the fellow that I watched open a Ty Cobb box. A relic card numbered to 10. Sweet, but one has to think about what it would have sold for. Nice to see a bat card of my idol.

I agree w/Great Deals Rob......you probably would have always wondered what was inside if you sold the sealed box. Not too mention the card you did pull is amazing.....a 5-piece bat, wow!

So don't spend too much time regretting it.

Man they are nice looking but the return on sealed boxes would have been much greater. At least you have some very nice stuff for the PC if you should choose to hold it.

Yeah, the Cobb I really shouldn't have as I already have a nice Cobb/Ruth/Wagner from Triple Threads.

I'll tell you what's tough, not scratching a UD Signs of History that I pulled early this year. I asked the guy to let me know what it was but he never responded.

It's like buying a lottery ticket...Some can go without scratching it and some have to scratch it before they leave the store...Don't beat yourself up over it. If it helps you out...I really enjoyed seeing your cards.

Well, since Sterling stuff is pretty weak, I decided to open my Gibson box as they aren't going for much. I sure am glad I did; I got a rather nice 1/1! Oddly enough, I believe this was the box with the 1/1 jumbo patch too.
