Cool Deal of a lifetime!!

So what has been your deal of a lifetime?

This is mine

So I saw an ad on criagslist for 500,000+ cards for sale, went to look at them and got them for $500... Turns out this guys father had a card shop and passed away so he just wanted to get rid of them. Needless to say I very much happy to take them off his hands. Took 2 truckloads and filled up my guest room very quickly Hundreds of sets from the 80's thru early 2000's alot of unopen boxes, packs and more. So many cards I don't know where 2 begin

What kind of unopened wax? Have a list yet? Sounds like a great deal

Can't believe you don't check craigslist for great sportscard deals. Just yesterday someone posted a 1982 topps call ripken rc! for $5000. What steal! I have no luck on CL for cards but I wish the OP good luck. Hope you find sometime great.

Someone in Ohio can come take advantage of me for a "deal of a lifetime"

I probably have 20 5000 count boxes in my basement from when I collected as a kid - and it's not commons - it's what, at the time at least, I considered stars and semi-stars. Example there are probably 75 Jordan cards, 250 Magic Johnsons, 200 Barry Sanders, 100 Nolan Ryans, 100 Hakeem's, 400 Albert Belles (as I am an Indians fan) etc...all random years and random cards - probably no GU or Autos but plenty of #'d inserts etc...might even be some of those nice $100 Jordan 90's inserts in there.

I'm way too lazy to look or to care - but a dealer or collector would have a field day going through the boxes of stuff I accumulated from about 88 through 98.

Some people on craigslist over value their cards because they don't know any better.
Heck I saw a listing for a Willie Mays RC someone posted yesterday here in the Houston area and with no scan was saying $4000+ because "one just sold for $96,000 and others routinely sell for $4,000+ in the condition his card is in".

Good luck, man! I have been doing this for a few months now and the only time I see a large lot like that (50,000+ cards) they want $1000 for them. Sorry - my rule of thumb is 1-2$ per thousand.

Please PM me an asking price on these cards.

Yeah it has been way fun i'm sure it was cherry picked when the store went out of business but still plenty of good quality cards it will be prob take me years to go through it all lol the thing about it was it was no haggling he straight up was asking $500 so I gladly paid

Saturday I'm going to check out a lot of 100,000 cards of bb, bkb and fb. They are asking 500 so it will either be a great deal or a gigantic pile of completely worthless crap, lol.

I am exclusively a baseball guy so I don't know exactly what to look for besides MJ fleer rookie, and other big name rookies in the older cards.

Kid needs tuition money. If it turns out to be a gold mine I'll pay him more than he is asking, but otherwise I'm not taking ownership of a pile of fire kindling. I use my Donruss 90's to start fires on camp outs.
