The Yankees must have caved and included Banuelos and Montero because I heard the Rockies weren't interested unless they could get Montero, Banuelos & others.

I'd be curious to know who you are reading that projects him as no more than a 3 or 4 starter. He has the stuff to be a 1 just needs to refine his command/control which has been much better already this season on the whole. Not to mention if this was the case the Yankees would be much more willing to include him as part of the deal with Montero. Which they have been reluctant to do. I think that tells you more about his ceiling than anything else.

according to MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com - Montero wouldn't be the centerpiece of a deal, Banuelos would.... the next big question is what else would the Yankees be giving up..... someone like a Slade Heathcott? Mason Williams? Eduardo Nunez? Ramiro Pena? Ivan Nova (who i think would get destroyed in Coors)

Control was the issue i heard. that was before the season as well. i still like Betances better, and if he didnt have that injury, for all we know he could be up in the Big Leagues right now.

Finally someone else who agrees with me
If all this is true I will be sooooooo MAD
Banuelos and Montero are 2 of the top prospects in baseball why give them up for a guy who is not even having that great of a year(compared to last year)

Yes but win now> prospects.

I agree with your statement...I hate seeing my team giving up great farm players, but at the same time, the ultimate goal is to win the championship and win it NOW. The yankees biggest need is pitching, therefore........I hope this happens for my fantasy team

Btw, can you expand on your "little birdie"...other than rumors and rumor sites. Do you have something more concrete?

I could have sworn I saw something on the ESPN bottom line yesterday. Nothing "concrete" but I think it was "Yankees show interest in Ubaldo Jimenez", or something along those lines.

he doesn't have a little birdie.. Troy Renekie is saying this is very unlikely to happen. His contract is too good for the Rockies to move right now. They aren't going to unload a player when they will still be in the race next year.

Colorado Rockies wise to shop Ubaldo Jimenez - Jon Heyman - SI.com

because SI is such a good little birdie... Come on all they are doing is trying to get hits on their website. It will take a deal to blow the Rockies away to move him which would have to be the likes of the Bartolo Colon Expos trade. These moves don't happen anymore.

SI just throws #@#@#@#@ on the wall to see if anything sticks.

Wow the Rockies definitely win this if they get Montero. The Yankees effed up when they traded Austin Jackson to Detroit a few years ago not they do it again

Kinda like MLBTraderumors lol

They love to throw crap up on their site. July 1st through July 31 is their busiest time. Reminds me of a pool company in the North East somewhere. They have to sell all their inventory between certain dates lol

I heard yesterday on one of the channels (ESPN, MLB) that the Rockies would have to have a great package for this to happen. I think they said a Herschel walker type trade.

Are you kidding me? The Yankees got rid of Coke and Kennedy and gave up Jackson for Curtis Granderson. Grandy was a much needed improvement. He's got power, he can field, and he's fast.

Where exactly did the Yankees f*ck up?

Not to mention Jackson is a singles hitter and a strikeout MACHINE. On pace for another 200+ K season.
