Default Trout Ain't No Salmon

Yes, that's right, I made a Tim Salmon reference...

Anyone else notice everyone worrying about Trout and trying to dump his cards? Hopefully, his stuff will come back to realistic prices. I'm not holding any, but would like to eventually buy.
Thoughts, predictions?

Im not keeping up with his majors stats. He may come around in a year or two. He's only 19. There's alot of stories where they start off bad and come back good a few years later. Like Jose Bautista, Josh Hamilton, Matt Joyce, ECT. As a prospector, I believe the end of the road for the bowman autos you own is right when they get called up. 9/10 times it will be where you make the most

Hes only 19 so i wouldnt worry. Defensively hes already dominating. He has struggled offensively but this is just a short stint and he should be back down as soon as Bourjos heals. I think he could make a real difference in the second half of 2012

On a side note, Mark Trumbo reminds me an awful lot of Tim Salmon

mike - true, but I think there's money to be made here on a significant price dip if everyone panics and sells, because...

jmilly- Trout is a stud. I'm not worried. Good call with the trumbo salmon comparison.

Was at the Angels/Rangers game today. He had two great plays in the field today. He has such power when he hits the ball, gonna be great to see when he gets settled in with ML pitching.

The numbers aren't there, but like jhollywood said his defense and speed thus far are impressive. Everyone goes through slumps, Trout's slump just happens to be his career stats for now.

I was at a game in Arkansas and was sitting among several scouts. They were all stating that Trout is the best player in the minors.

Simply called up too soon IMO. Should've let the kid finish the season off in the minors and then look at him in the majors next year.

Brandon Wood 2.0

Not real serious about that, but they rushed the kid. He's not ready. Going to take some time to adjust and hopefully he figures it out before the year ends so that it doesn't blow up his confidence going forward.

I was watching the game a couple of nights ago against the Rangers. Trout hit a hard ground ball to Elvis Andrus and he got rid of it in a hurry. It was like any other routine hard hit ground ball where you know for sure the guy is going to be out. Trout was safe, I couldn't believe it. It wasn't one of those bad calls either, he was definitely safe. I don't know of any other player in the league that would have been safe on that hit. The guys defense is incredible, and his speed is something else. His bad will come around. If the Angels brought him up for his speed and defense knowing there was going to be some transition time for his bat, I think they made a great call.

At a certain point his cards are a buy, but they have most certainly peaked. Like mike said, chrome almost always peaks when they get called up.

Looks like Trout will stay up. Bourjos was activated from the DL and Alexi Amarista was optioned to AAA. Unclear of where Trout will be getting playing time.

Trout also had a great game tonight. 2 for 4, sb, 2b, 2 runs. He recorded his first XB hit, first multihit game and first steal.

Mike Trout just hit his first major league homer. A 3 run shot off Mark Worrell.

I also thought he may have been rushed by the looks of things...
Nice to see him hit that 3-Run HR...maybe that will give him some confidence! Lots love the friendly confines of Camden yards!
