Default Ebay card trimmed...help.
So I bought a 1955 Topps Harmon Killebrew rookie off Ebay. Seller has perfect feedback and buyers always raved about the cards they received. Sent it to PSA and it came back N1 Trimmed.

Messaged seller they claim PSA made a mistake and it is unaltered. Of course 45 days have passed and I have already left + feedback. They told me to send the card back and they will refund but obviously this is risky.

I'm considering calling my credit card company as I have 90 days to file claims. I understand many will say don't buy vintage ungraded off Ebay. I understand but the seller has been flawless previously. I have purchased other cards from them np.

Thoughts? What would u do?

What if I suggest sending a paypal invoice to them for the card? Then if I don't send they can dispute. Then we are both protected.

Ya. They were emailing back yesterday but today nothing.

The Auction states:

"It is 100% authentic & unaltered guaranteed"!

I'm scared I ship the card and they never reply again. I have no recourse with Ebay and Paypal as 45 days have past. You would ship it back no questions asked? What if they say I didn't send that card or something? Sorry that i'm a little paranoid its $500 and my trust is wearing thin. Never disputed with my credit card so its new to me.

And just because PSA wouldn't grade it, that doesn't mean it was trimmed by the seller. There are quite a few early/mid 50s topps cards that were cut slightly short by Topps back in the day. If it didn't measure up exactly to the 55 topps size, they won't grade it and put evidence of trimming/card altered/card does not meet minimum size.

The card is gorgeous. 4 sharp corners and near perfect centering. I knew it would get at least an 8 and maybe a 9. Check what those sell for...

Mostly raw. The odd graded.

You paid $500 for it? In your PSA submission thread, you said you paid less than $499. Also said that you know they aren't perfect.

PSA submission question...

"I have Ryan, Killebrew, and Rose rookies I want to send...they are not perfect obviously but not sure if they will be over $499. Paid less than that for them."

BV is much more relevant when it comes to vintage than to new cards.

Yes it was $480 pardon me for rounding up?????? Rose and Ryan were less. Am I on trial here?

I'm just saying, you said in your old post that you know they aren't perfect. But now you say the Killebrew is gorgeous with 4 sharp corners and well centered.

You bought a rae Killebrew RC on of Ebay. End of story....I would say a raw card being as good as you claim and NOT altered and bought off Ebay is 5%. ANYTHING in that sort of condition will be slabbed.

Agree with this 100%. The only time sharp ungraded vintage is found is when an old timer who hates grading decides to sell off his collection.

Ok. But the listing stated it was unaltered. They sell a ton of high end cards and barely any are graded. They get top top money on most of them.

I will have no issue telling everyone the seller once i'm refunded.
