They are saving his rookie card so that it will hold more value when they release it later on in the year in some premium product. They will probably have his auto in Tier One or Marquee. I'll have to pick one up.

LOL! 14 straight years, a record to never be touched again. And they havent been the best the last couple of years, but what can you expect? They lost the best GM in baseball history. Good news is they are rebuilding, and are better than any other team who buys off the contracts of superstars in order to "have a winning team" and still lose. At least most of their guys are homegrown.

and maybe if some fans would have shown up to see them they could have afforded to "buy off" some contracts of their own and stayed competitive.

Case in point, Braves NL attendance rank the last 5 years they have made the playoffs:
2002: 8th of 16 teams
2003: 7th of 16
2004: 10th of 16
2005: 10th of 16
2010: 9th of 16

oh and this year, in the midst of their homegrown youth movement....
10th of 16

meanwhile, Phillies have 177 consecutive sellouts... Topps just assumes there are no Braves fans out there because no one shows up to watch them even when they are good
