I remember his 1997 Bowman base card coming out at $25 and being the hottest card in the hobby, just ahead of Jose Cruz Jr.'s 1997 Bowman which came out at $15. Irabu-Mania was right up there with Strasburg-Mania back then. What a terrible end to his life, I'm surprised to read he was still living in the U.S.
