Topps redemption replacement, any advice?

It's well past the six month waiting period for two Topps Series 1 Drew Storen RC Autos I'm waiting on. I've never had to go about doing a replacement but since they are two of the same cards I figure might as well at least take my chances replacing one if not both.

So not having ever done it before, any advice on what to ask for? I know these aren't the highest value cards but what cards would they probably replace it with? Just looking for something with good value I so wondering what teams or players to ask for.

As far as I know, Topps doesn't let you choose a team or player for a replacement, they just send you a different card that is equivalent according to them.

Oh, figured I get to since they said to contact them. That's kind of annoying if they just want you to call to say yes, give me a replacement.

They will replace both cards, but they do not take suggestions on who you would like, or give you a specific choice of what card you want like panini is known to do. So you are basically at the will of the d'bags in the topps customer service dept. Sometimes it works out and they send you a replacement of "equal value" that you are happy with, and sometimes it doesnt and you totally get screwed with a crappy card.

I.e. my buddy had a 2010 Topps Tribute Nick Markakis Bat/Auto /99 redemption, it went past the waiting period so he asked for a replacement and got a 2010 Topps 206 Rick Hill auto, which isnt even close to the same value as Tribute is one of their highend products and 206 is almost as low end as it gets

Topps goes by Beckett high book value and will replace with an equivalent.

Hey.. it never hurts to ask for a certain card. As mentioned though, Topps' CS dept. is not the most user friendly.

I asked for a replacement jd martinez auto (on my gorkys hernandez auto platinum) told the guy I was an astros fan. He said no prblem. It was in my queue same day and showed shipped by the end of the week....

I received a cueto topps relic insteadnot sure how this works. Wasn't even the same product.

Man, sounds like it's rough. What do you guys think of Storen long term? Better to wait it out for the cards, see if I get lucky on one replacement and wait for the other, or cut and run and take a chance replacing both?

I have a Donovan Tate redemption from 2010 BDPP. I think I've been waiting like 7 months. should i get a replacement or wait for the Tate?

I would ask for a replacement. Tate's career is at a standstill, id rather take my chances on a different card.
