Why are these two same cards' worth so different?

The PSA 9 is the only one on eBay. Plus, it hasn't even sold. Its not worth that much, just the seller is asking that much.

Just like any other card, your Mathews PSA 8 is worth what someone will pay for it. Doesn't matter what the actual or true value of the card is. No one knows what any graded card is worth. A PSA 8 would probably bring a hundred or two, but I'm an expert, so I could be way off.

Just wishful thinking by the seller, obviously a PSA 9 is worth more than a PSA 7, but not $840 more with this card. He probably listed it high figuring he would field offers.

On the otherhand maybe the PSA 9 is worth that much due to a low population? It could be the only one...thats some food for thought

ok, first thing. 707sports cards is way over priced! but here's the breakdown. there are 23 psa 9's and 223 psa 7's, so there is a huge difference. the SMR has the value of the psa 7 @ 45$ and the psa 9 @ 600$. the psa 8 is $90. if the psa 9 were to go to auction, i think it would fetch over $600 but not $885. these vintage cards sell for very very close to what the SMR guide says

the PSA 7 is listed cheaper than SMR and the PSA 9 is listed above SMR value, but like someone mentioned earlier, a PSA 9 is worth as much as someone is willing to pay. I would say it would sell for 700 +
