Default John Mayberry JR

Belted yet another HR tonight of the 2 run variety off STREET for the BS...

I like this kid more and more every time I watch him.
Picked these up on cheap last week

Very nice pick ups. His first year in pro ball with Texas was here in Spokane. Low A ball. He had some nasty power. A lot of holes in his swing, but when he connected it went a mile. Got a nice sweet spot auto on an official MiLB ball that year. It took him a while, but happy to see him doing well in the bigs.

This kid has hit for a lot of power the last month or so with Philly. I think in one 3-4 game stretch he had about 7 doubles and a couple HRs. A big boy that can certainly swing the stick, and would probably be an everyday player for a handful of MLB teams. He just has too many bodies to pass on the Depth Charts in Phialdelphia. For now, though, I'd bet he's happy with his role!

He's one of those guys that just LOOKS like he should be good. He sort of glides around the bases when he runs. That was a great AB last night, one he absolutely would NOT have had a year ago. Maybe he's a late bloomer?
Street was going down and away with everything. I think it was an 8 pitch at bat. He worked the count full with the Phils down to their last out, and then got a handing slider that he just ripped into the seats. I couldn't believe it

i agree he looked poised at the plate too. had good read on pitch and recognized early what they were doing against him. and when street made a mistake he made him pay.
