Less than a week away fro the rosters expanding from 25 players to 40. It seems like the only talk I've heard Nationally is for Jesus Montero to get his call-up, but I'm guessing there are local papers and media all over the country that are chattering in excitement about their top prospects being summoned soon. I'll throw a few names out there, let me know what you think and also if you've heard anything saying the player will or will not be a September Call Up:
Jesus Montero, Yankees: An obvious Call Up, should get some AB's at DH here and there Brett Jackson, Cubs: Showing all Five Tools at AAA, give the woeful fans something to be excited about? Jacob Turner, Tigers: Already got one start this month, might get a few down the stretch since the Tigers are pulling away with the division to preserve their playoff arms Trevor Bauer, Diamondbacks: One of the best pitchers in NCAA history now dominating every start in AA. Might be the only prospect here to be called on to be a major factor in a playoff push Julio Teheran, Braves: nearly the exact same situation as Jacob Turner, except the Braves are running away with the Wild Card, not the division Martin Perez, Rangers: struggling at AAA, but the Rangers might want to get his feet wet for next season and maybe even use him out of the bullpen as a Lefty specialist (I don't personally think he'll get the call, but outside shot maybe) Sonny Gray, A's: Again, I doubt it, but it's not completely out of the question. No runs allowed in two AA appearances, and I think he was scheduled to start yesterday before the game was Postponed. After Gio Gonzalez, Trevor Cahill, and Brandon McCarthy(who is always good for some DL time), the A's rotation is up for grabs in 2012. It will be interesting to see if Gray moves up to AAA for a playoff start for the Sacramento Rivercats. |

He won't get the call. Already has had (by today) three Mud Hens starts and they aren't limiting his innings so much that he can throw the Tigers some more in September. No way.

The Indians just called up their top pitching prospect, Nick Hagadone. He isn't a household name like Pomeranz or White was when they were on the Indians but was a top prospect before the year started. He became there best pitching prospect when the trade happened and might have been there top overall prospect with Chisenhall and Kipnis already getting the call this season.
They have him pitching out of the bullpen right now but might be stretched out into a starter, especially since now the Indians have no power lefties prospects in the orginizartion that I am aware of. He can hit 98 MPH on the radar and has been real solid in AAA this season. |

Bauer will not get much playing time if he gets called up. He's doing awesome in the minors. Id like to see Tampa call Matt Moore up

I read somewhere that Zach Cox may be up this September. I don't know if there is any validity to it, but hitting .385 w/ 4 homers over his past 10 games certainly could help.
I think Bauer will be up, but he is quickly approaching a so-called "innings limit" so I don't know how much or in what the role the D'Backs will use him. As someone said on here earlier, Surkamp who is probably SF's best pitching prospect now is starting tomorrow. I don't know if he will be called up, but Matt Moore was pulled in his last start after 6 innings and 80 pitches even though he didn't allow any runs. Maybe the Rays are trying to save his arm somewhat for a stint in September. |

Sonny Gray with another 5 Shutout Innings and 6 K's at AA. That's 11.1 IP with 0 Runs allowed. I doubt the A's will give him the call so they don't start his service clock, but it's been such a miserable year for the A's that I would love to see him get a few starts with an 80 Pitch limit.
