Default Ubaldo vs A's tonight

So, with the A's offense rated #12 out of 14 AL teams, will Ubaldo dominate tonight? Game is in Cleveland. Everything is in his favor. Maybe a no-hitter? Perfect game? Or???

Listen to the game here: http://www.wspd.com/mediaplayer/

Gives up 7 runs in 3.2 innings and gets booed off the field.

A's win 6-4, Ubaldo goes 5 with 5 earned, takes the loss. Even though my team is mediocre they are beating Ubaldo tonight!

For someone who plays BOC cop and loves to point out whenever ANYONE else breaks a single rule, you sure love to troll around continually, breaking the rules whenever you want to. The king of hypocrites you are. Be proud of yourself Tyson.

I love how this thread implies the Royals are a bad offensive team despite being #6 in the American League in runs scored, #4 in the American League in team batting average (#5 in all of baseball, ahead of the Yankees), and #6 in the American League in OPS.

But yeah, the Royals offense sucks... all you have to do is ignore all offensive stats kept. LOL.

I could have swore this was about the Indians and A's?

Dude, they're playing the A's, not the Royals. Not sure what you're talking about?

Perfect game gone on first batter, no hitter gone in 2nd inning, shutout gone.....maybe he should just go for a win

Even though it doesn't relate to the topic, I couldn't agree more. We are a Top-5 Offense and hardly anybody knows it.

We are aware of it here in the Boston area. The Royals have played us tough this year.

Yeah I think we have the most 1-run losses in the MLB by far. Including the last 2 versus the Tigers. Depressing stat.

Could be worse-- you could have traded the farm for Ubaldo. hahaha

Seriously though, will any of these young Royals pitchers pan out? Seems like a lot of talent there, but they haven't done so hot yet.

Back to Jimenez: 4 IN, 6 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 K-- and losing the game, 3-2.

Leaves with a ND: 6 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K

So sorry he didn't give up 8 runs like you wanted.

The Bullpen has been great and Duffy has been up and down in the rotation. Montgomery has had a huge setback year in AAA, and Nate Adcock has shined at times in the rotation in KC.

I don't want the guy to do badly. Never said anything of the sort. Quoting his stats doesn't mean I'm against the guy. But hey, his 4.50 ERA for tonight is better than his season average, so it looks like he's on the right track (even if it was against the lowly A's lineup, in Cleveland).

I'm assuming that's the same guy as this?

Yeah nobody really ever talks about him though. He was a rule-5 pick last year. Had a very good start today against the Tigers IMO.

It seems like you have known me forever. Also, I am proud of myself. Not trolling around but it sure seems like you are just dying to start an argument about Jimenez again. You asked a question and left it open with or?............ So I answered to the best of my knowledge. BTW, nice job again pimping a card in the thread discussion. I thought I was on your ignore list.

Yeah, my bad. Getting ahead of myself and thinking about this weekend's matchup.

Jimenez wasn't all that good tonight, but he did seem to find his stuff about half way through his start. A 4.50 ERA for the game is mediocre, but it could be worse... the Indians could have had Alex White and his 7.50 post trade ERA starting tonight instead

I think White's 2nd start he gave up 2 hits through 5 innings (one a solo HR), then hit Justin Upton to open the 6th and the D'backs -- one of the hottest teams in baseball-- took offense, got PO, and got 4 straight hits to score 4 runs.

It's very tough to be out almost all year as a pitcher (or hitter) and then jump back into game situations in the middle of the year when everyone is firing on all cylinders already. That said, he'll be fine. Both starts he pitched better than the final totals. I'm sure he'll be fine. Send me your White autos, if you don't believe me?

Funny...didn't seem to have a problem with lack of innings hurting his numbers in the Minors.
