In addition, to the stolen bases, he has been hitting for better average lately. What are your thoughts on this guy? Can he keep it up as he moves up the ladder to the bigs?

The tools are certainly there and the speed is legit but he had sort of a down year hitting wise. I know he was a couple of top 100 lists so it will be interesting to see if he retains his "prospect status".

Agreed, like I said he had a "down year" hitting wise and I'm not sure how much it's going to knock his status. Evaluating performance like that is funny because if a player does well or meets the expectation levels of their performance it's not a big deal because it was "expected" of them or "they should be doing that". However, if a prospect struggles and doesn't put it together it counts for more than when they are performing well. I think the reality is, it's tough to base projection solely on performance & numbers in the minor leagues because the competition can be very inconsistent.

He and Drew Stubbs can be the Reds stolen base guys and 100+ strike out guys. Should be great to watch.
![]() Seriously, the guy is in single A. He isn't ready for the majors for at least 2-3 years, if ever. But the Red GM likes him.

My guess is that he checks in somewhere between the #50-60 prospect in all of baseball right now. More disappointing than the Striekouts is the drop in Slugging Percentage. Last season he had a .456 SLG with 25 XBH's in 69 Games. He played nearly double the amount of games this season (135) and had only 5 more XBH's and a .360 SLG. He was 20 years Old all season and had a far better second half offensively than the first half, so he definitely has time to improve and as we saw from the list above, possible Vince Coleman type potential, which the Reds would be thrilled with no doubt.
