Default rack packs / cello packs

im just wondering what your experiences have been with these. my main concern is that these have been opened up and re sealed . is it possible. i guess it could be with the cellos , but what about the racks ?

i have seen some really nice ones with key cards on top or bottom and have been tempted.

What years are you talking about? If it is very old I would be weary.

Well, like everything you need to buy from a trusted source. Also, cellos can be packed very tightly causing damage to corners.

Yes they still make rack packs. Like Mightbe said buy from a trusted source. If you are buying on ebay find someone who sells alot of them and has solid feedback.

well you really cant go wrong with what your getting if you already know your getting a certain card. the only thing is the condition. even if the corners look good you cant be sure about the surface.

it just boggles my ind that you can still get a un opened rack pack of 1956 topps........... or a full box of un opened packs of something like 1970 topps

Have you seen the Xmas Rak Paks from the 50's and 60's. There is a guy on ebay that seems to have an endless supply.

Yeah, those are really interesting. They were packaged, but not by Topps, years after the cards were issued so they are "legit" but people still make knock offs of them.

I read an article several years back that who ever was making the Xmas racks would basically make them to order. If you wanted a couple of yankees showing no problem.

When I stated collecting again in 2003 I purchased an 82' Topps Jumbo Cello box and in the second pack was a ripken jr. Wish I could say it was on top but it wasn't. Although then, I probably wouldn't have known enough to keep it sealed. Pretty scary..........I know!!!

man you aint kdding. geez he has got tons of them. i would be weary of those. them can be tampered with easily. all you would have to do is remove the staples.

I did some research on the Xmas packs awhile back, from what I read, stay far far away from them.

They aren't awful, just don't bid on them for anything more than what is in on the front and the back. Its just a nice way to go down memory lane without spending thousands on a rack pack. What gets hairy is when someone represents it as a vintage sealed unsearched pack, there is no way to be certain.
